Have you looked at the Media Configuration Guide?

Oh! I may be a newbie and am probably seriously doubtable, but i had a similar problem. I downloaded an episode and when i played it on my BS Player there was no image, only sound. But i downloaded the Windows Media Player 9 and its working perfectly now, that may be the problem? This is only a suggestion though lol

As suggested by flammie, please read the Media Configuration Guide.

From your perspective, media files have the same extension, *.avi. However, technically, they are different. Some are encoded using Div-X, some are encoded using XVid, etc. You need a specific Codec to play the corresponding format. Therefore, many persons here recommend newbies to use ffd-show, because it is a bundle of video and audio codecs. It can play almost 80% of fansub animes without a problem. For those files with rare codecs (either video or audio), again, please refer to Media Configuration Guide.

Ffd-show does not provide support for WMV-Media Player 9 yet. I think Raw (no substitle) providers often use WMV format for their releases.

whatever happens.. the easier is always to download the latest fddshow codec file, so that you have almost everything you need. As for playing WMV files.... well.... Windows media player ...

And do read the media config file... it explains EVERYTHING YOU NEED
