Narultimate Hero Sequel!

"Cyberconnect2 announced Naruto: Narutimett Hero 2 for PlayStation 2, the sequel last year's popular anime fighting game. The game will have more characters, moves, game modes and art works. Naruto: Narutimett Hero 2 is scheduled for a fall release in Japan."

From the IGN Naruto board.

Good news for PS2 players like myself. Now I just have to mod it...

Are any of those games worth buying? I have seen a few screenshots and that's about it.

Frankly I wasn't that impressed with the first game. Hopefully they can spice it up in someway to warrant my purchasing it.

The Gamecube games while a different type of fighter, are far superior and fun to me.

The PS 2 games has a ton of supers, but the supers are just videos and that's pretty much it. The bulk of the gameplay is what should make a game fun, not videos of a super being performed.

No idea. I've heard the Gamecube #2 fighter was the best Naruto fighter out there. But that may change with this sequel.

I hope they include some of the sound four, or even Kimimaro as a fighter. That'd rule.

It's possible it will go through this current manga arc. I didn't read ahead of where the anime was last fall, but the PS 2 version of the first game ended up including spoilers through Kazekage's body being found. The game came out last November so that gives you an idea how far ahead the game went.

Because I hadn't read ahead it was interesting to see all the characters and stages and wonder what they all meant. The game did spoil the return of the First and Second Hokage... that part sucked. The other things were vague enough to not be too big a spoiler. Though that one second level final super of Narutos (I think it was second level) where the Fourth Hokage comes out with Gamabunta to slice up your opponent was bad ass. Too bad I actually thought that was something that would happen in the manga that the anime had just not gotten to yet.

When you say mod it, you mean what exactly?, Do you translate it somehow or change the format of the game,.... ie NTSC to PAL, or do you just have a modified PS2 That can play Jap games.
See im really intrested in this game, and i would like to know a little more how YOU make it playable.

You either need a Japanese PS 2 or you can mod a U.S. PS 2 to play Japanese games. Either you mod the case and use a boot disk, or put in a mod chip.

Ahhh, yes thats what i thought, so you can't acually mod the game itself.

See i can get my PS2 chipped, but i don't really wan't to, ive seen too many of my friends regret doing it, and i don't really know much about the boot disk part?.

The announcement can be seen on the magic box if anyone's interested.

The list of fighters for Narultimate hero included:

Naruto
Sakura
Kakashi
Shikamaru
Rock Lee
Sasuke
Neji
Hinata
Haku
Zabuza
Gaara
Orochimaru

The list of fighters for Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 2 included:

Naruto
Sasuke
Sakura
Rock Lee
Neji
Hinata
Kiba
Shikamaru
Ino
Hakate Kakashi
Maito Gai
Iruka
Haku
Momochi Zabuza
Kankuro
Gaara
Orochimaru
Mizuki
Karasu
Akamaru
Kyubi Naruto
Sharingan Sasuke
Sharingan Kakashi

So Narultimate hero could include any of the used fighters above in addition to the new characters like the Sound Four.

BTW, I've heard rumors that the first PS2 game is coming over to the US. As likely will the 2nd.

This also means that very, very close on the horizon is the licensing of the acutal anime.

Frankly I'm more eager to hear an announcement for a third Cube game. I figure based on the past release schedule between the first and second game, we could get a announcement for it sometime this summer with a release this Fall.

For the PS 2 game, I hope they add all the Sannin to the game beyond just Orochimaru. The Sound Four and Kimimaro could work very easily. Kimimaro especially since his Dances lend well to being used as super attacks.

I agree completely, since I have a Gamecube

Now, for Narutimett Hero 2, I think it's very unlikely that they'll put players of the current manga arc. All Naruto previous games have followed the anime so far, so this one must not be an exception. It may follow until the end of the Tsunade arc, so I'd expect Jiraiya, Kabuto, Tsunade, and even Itachi and/or Kisame, also Sarutobi (though I hardly think they will put him); finally Shino, Temari and Choji (I'm not sure for Choji, since they're probably saving him for a game that follows after the Tsunade arc, for *that reason*) as new characters (comparing to the 2nd Gamecube game, which has more characters). New jutsu like the Summoning no Jutsu should be added, too.

As for a third Gamecube game, that's another story. If a new game is released next year, it's very probable that it will have characters after the Tsunade arc...

Spoiler:

I'm absolutely salivating for a Ninja Taisen 3 with the Sannin, Sound Four... *slobber*

If they could include multiple supers ala what they gave Sharingan Sasuke in the second one... Man... Total heaven.

Yeah I look forward to the second ps2 game and gekitou ninja taisen 3.. though gnt3 isn't announced yet. btw it's "Naltimate hero" in romaji, it says so in the aftertext when you beat everyone's storymode in the first game.

This sounds like great news. I've recently payed the PS2 one and I thought it was great. My only problem with it is that you can't skip some of the cut scenes after the few hundred times you've gotten tired with them.

I heard that something called a "slide card" will do the trick too.
