To attract attention of course - isn't that what a signature is for?
You can still find my Azureus Download Guide here

By all means, make sure to read this.

What client are you using? You should get one that can control the upload and download bandwidth like ABC and Tornado. It could be your firewall too.

It could be a number of problems, all of which has fixes. Most likely is #1...

1) Common problem with torrents and "typical" asynchronous broadband connections. Your torrents take up all the upload, leaving no bandwidth for confirmations and requests and thus slowing your downloads. To "fix" this, find out your actual upload bandwidth and set your torrent uploads (either in the torrent client or with a separate bandwidth shaper) to about 75% or so (optimal amount varies) of the possible bandwidth.

2) Have you done a speed test on your connection? Go to DSLReports.com or any other site that has bandwidth speed tests (that also tests uploads) and find out what you are getting on your wireless connection. If the speed test also shows similar results to your bittorrent downloads, then there's something else wrong. Try speed tests while hard-wired in. If still the same way, then either your router or service provider. If download speed improves when wired in, your wireless setup.

3) Maybe just what the other peers are uploading. Ya never know, but they may have super slow upload connections or have set upload limits.
