I think I might have already posted on this board, if I did, I have some major changes since then!

1.Dogtato-kun - Have you watched this? Holy god, this is like, the ultimate 'Am I high?' anime. It's unbelievably awesome, and I seriously watched all this in one sitting. I have it on disc. I'm putting on my ipod. I WILL buy this if it EVER COMES OUT ON DISC. Then I'll buy a few more copies and give them to random people on the street. A-dor-a-blleeee.

2. Ouran High School Host Club - The only reason I could hate this anime by the end of the season is if they kill someone off. Like, not even moving someone away, but actually KILLING SOMEONE OFF.

3. xXxHolic - I'd say the same reason as before, but this is spooky and I wouldn't be surprised if they did. I like supernatural anime, and this is one I'll keep watching until the bitter end.

4. Aria the Animation and Aria the Natural - It's slow, and beautiful and had great characters, along with a beautiful setting. It's one of my favorite animes to watch at just any old time, and just to relax.

5. Futakoi Alternitive - It's in a genre all it's own. Rentarou is just plain cool, and the crazy storyline just makes me laugh. Oh, and CLAYMATION. ^^

Honorable Mentions

6. Card Captor Sakura - It's a subtle parody of all mahou-shoujou. Plus, theres Eriol and Tomoyo in it. Kawaii~!

7. Air and Kanon - Two great animes, and with the upcoming Kanon 2006 the story line has got to be even deeper than it was before.

8. Ichigo Mashimaro - Cute girls doing cute things.

9. Nana (The Movie) - I really loved the acting and the plot is great. ^^

4. Noir - whoa an all female cast but no boob/panty shots, slick gunfight sequences, a payoff twist in the end and one of the coolest girls in the whole of anime
5. Samurai Champloo - slick swordfights this time from two invincible ronin

RUNNER UPS: Last Exile, Gankutsuou, Beyond the Clouds: A Place Promised in our Early Days, His and Her Circumstances, Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist, Gundam SEED, Saiyuki, Fruits Basket, Princess Mononoke, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Wolf's Rain, Arjuna, FLCL, Voices of a Distant Star
i'd like to slide The Twelve Kingdoms or Juuni Kokuki next to Now and Then, Here and There on #1. it's amazing. i'd go so far as to say it's the Japanese/Asian equivalent to J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings or C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia.

I'm a fan of almost every anime genre... but the ones that hit my top 5 list are the ones that I think are most detailed/deep.

This is my updated list ever since I finished Yakitate!! Japan... it slid down from #1 spot because it has a lot of flaws. It might slide more depending on Honey & Clover's 2nd season.

I rate things according to their storyline/structure, characterisation, entertainment level, animation, art, music, research/detail, execution of theme/discussion

1) FLCL
2) Yakitate!! Japan
3) Honey & Clover
4) Full Metal Alchemist
5) His and Her Circumstances

And ... for the sake of it... here's top 10

6) Last Exile
7) Fruits Basket
8) Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (This has a shot at top 5 depending on how it ends)
9) Nausicca Valley of the Wind
10) Initial D

My favorite 5 would probably be too short a list for me, cause I like a lot of them.
However, If I had to choose, they would be (in no particular order):

1) Inuyasha (Despite the Never-ending story aspect it seems to be acquiring)
2) Banner of the Stars I & II (星界の戦旗, Seikai no Senki), Crest of the Stars (星界の紋章 Seikai no Monshō)
3) Princess Mononoke & Spirited Away (all Miyazaki movies, but these were my favorites)
4) Naruto
5) Full Metal Alchemist (I still watch the reruns)

And others: Legend of Himiko, G Gundam & Gundam Seed, Samurai Champloo, S-Cry-Ed, Yu Yu Hakusho etc, etc, etc..... The list would bore you, so I won't.

In no particular order, because... I change my mind a lot:

- Princess Tutu
- Mushishi/Kino no Tabi
- Monster
- Perfect Blue/Tokyo Godfathers
- Grave of the Fireflies
