Why take the chance here when you could have the same effect in this thread?

Just seen Elfen Lied the other day (it was incredible) and I ask anyone that still has the fansubs to check out episode 9. The part in which the police are surrounding the house after the "head/tricycle" scene... The cops actually yell "Come out with your pants down!" WTF? Thought I'd share this.. I always seem to notice this stuff... If this was brought up before, sorry, just thought it was amusing. Awesome job by the fansubbers, but they need to get more sleep or something...
The police didn't say that. It was the fansubber's idea of a joke. Personally I found it rather irritating that they decided to mistranslate a line for comedic effect in the middle of a tense scene, but... well... considering what we paid them for it, I suppose we didn't do too bad.

This isn't the first time that they inserted a joke either. On the TV set in a previous episode, that same group translated the text scrawl as "AJ News: Mass naked child events." On the other hand, there is a version by another group that had Nana saying "Rocket Fist" when she... well, you know.

I don't know what it is about Elfen Lied that attracts these kinds of practical jokers.

That song gives me the creeps every time I hear it
Edit:
What langauge is the Theme song from Elfen Lied in? My best guess is Latin.

That's correct!!

Wondering if ever there's a continuation, will they going to use the same opening song or employ a new one either in Latin or why not, German?

Maybe this song.

Quote:

und humpelt also tippe tapp
durch's Haselholz in's Tal hinab,
schlupft an der Mauer hin so dicht,
da sitzt der Glühwurm Licht an Licht.

"Was sind das helle Fensterlein?
Da drin wird eine Hochzeit sein:
die Kleinen sitzen bei'm Mahle,
und treiben's in dem Saale.
Da guck' ich wohl ein wenig 'nein!"

Pfui, stößt den Kopf an harten Stein!
Elfe, gelt, du hast genug?
Gukuk!
I can think of two more german songs that would fit Elfen Lied, I will post em when I find the Lyrics.

This is thuroughly off-topic but I just noticed that there's an unusually high concentration of Canadians on this thread (me included).

I don't think that a poem is fit for an opening because the rhythm is just off.
On a related note: The a capella version sung by a male chorus is vastly superior than the standard opening one IMO.

Maybe Canadians like violent animes more than other nations? Then again it might be just coincidence

Then the other two are not going to work(Industrial Metal Music) Allthough they do fit the anime.

I do know that; my point was that this is most likely coincidence that alot of Canadians are participating in this thread (if they are, I didn't count ^_^)

Ugh, you don't mean Rammstein (the guys who did the opening theme to Triple X), do you? If you do you should google for some of their lyrics translated to English. You'll be very surprised (negatively, that is) about what they are singing; rape, bestiality and incest comes to mind (does not really suit Elfen Lied, does it )

I all ready knew that. The two songs i'm thinking of dont have anything to do with Bestiality, Rape and incest.

I'm going to host it for awhile, if any mods have a problem with that just let me know. Not sure if this is the exact one that was mentioned, but either way its good.

Thanks to Reaver4k for sending it

EDIT:
I'll take Guido's advice and remove it for now, however, if you want it, you know how to get it
