Never heard of a Japanese cable channel with subtitles. Cable is better, with my Adelphia package if I wanted to I can pay extra for TV Japan which is completely japanese and oddly has no shows that are regular time blocks, they range fron 5, 10, 15, 20, up to 450 minute shows. Why not just have 30 min and 60 min shows?

Why not just watch whatever's on CN etc. and download fansubs? That's what lots of other people do. You get to see plenty of shows within a couple of weeks of their being aired, subtitled and everything.

And how is this a manga forum question?

Or am I just full of stupid questions today?

CN is the abbreviation for Cartoon Network. It's an American station that plays anime, but is not available outside of the USA.

Fansubs are the episodes of anime with English subtitles that you see around before a show gets licensed.

They will air Fullmetal Alchemist starting in October(date?) but they only air animes licensed in North America.

I think you are trying to get a Japanese station on you TV. If the American satalite companies even have Japanese channels, it won't have subtitles. You're stuck with waiting for shows to be licenced in America, downloading fansubs, or moving to Japan and learning the language.

A little while back, a guy did post about a new Asian channel. He was looking for translaters and subtitlers. I guess that station will have subs but it won't air all anime (nor just Japanese shows) and probably isn't very available if it is at all.
