Re: Cutey Honey Fansubs??

Hey, I was just wondering if any fansub groups are thinking about subbing Re: Cutey Honey. I would imagine the demand for it is very high, as it is both hiliarious and very interestingly animated as well as being a very popular franchise. I'm pretty sure this is not licensed and am suprised that no one has picked this up. Anyone who is thinking about it, thanks!!

Miyuki no Tamari will also be subbing this series. Same translator as our Pretty Cure (he's a big Cutie Honey fan....).

A huge thank you in advance to all of the groups who have picked this up. Honey is one of my favourite anime heroines out there!

Heh. You've got nothing on me! I've seen every Cutey Honey series including the much neglected Flash. I'm hoping that Re is more like the original TV series than the other versions of it. The OVAs were fun, but the seemed to have lost the sensibility of the original. Curiously I thought that Flash was more in line with the original TV series despite its strange bishojo bent.

Well, the artwork was very colorful. You could tell in an instant the Go Nagai design. Lots of fanservice, over the top action (done in a pretty unrealistic fashion), and a distinct retro feel... Plus I loved the VA crew. Expect to see something out soon

Weren't you thinking of a shoujo (instead of bishoujo) bent ?

It's a bit like both Bishoujo and Mahoushoujo.

So it's kind of like a Bisho-Mahou-Shoujo-Gogo show.

Yeah, that's a pretty good description of Cute Honey Flash!

Now I want to see what Re: Cute Honey is like!!!

In a nutshell: 70's Parody, acid colours, big hair and disco It's like Gainax decided to go back to their Daicon ad days with this girl instead.

If nothing else, the perpetual PMS policewoman Natsumi stole the show. Strangely enough, I think Noda Junko was cast better as this pissed and militant femme than Horie Yui in the lead. Maybe it's the required attitude

Not in too big a hurry for the subs. The jokes and explainations were easy enough to follow and Anno's visual direction is flawless as always .

ADV seems to be big Go Nagi buyers

I would not be surprised if the licensing was already in the works

I really liked Horie Yui's voice... but a lot of people seem to disagree. Dunno why...

Don't get me wrong, I loved her effort as well. It's just that half of the girl isn't quite there. Excellent as Honey Kisaragi/Cosplayer Honey- just not bad ass enough for Cutie Honey . Always thought of the first Cho Henshin Mahou Shoujo airhead as the model for todays battling valkyrie. Horie Yui sounds admittedly a little soft for the role.

Maybe ep2 will see her having more bite in the fight.

It's Cutey Honey AND it is Gainax. Of course the licensing is already in the works. I just hope I get to see a couple of episodes to preview it before the announcement.
