Japanese please come here....

In Japan, people celebrate almost any festival there is the whole year long.
I was wondering what festival do you celebrate on what day and month and reasons?

If you can please stated down:
What name is the festival?
When do you celebrate that certain Festival?
Where, how, and reasons?

Thanks, just want to know the Japanese Culture more....

In America the largest gathering for American Japanese people is the Cherry Blossum festival in Washington DC. I went to the last one... I got there late though and missed all the fun.

Linkage for the non-google initiated. (or those just too lazy to search. )

That's a perty comprehensive list of Japanese holiday's celebrated on the national level. What it doesn't list is some of the local or regional celebrations. Still haven't figured out where to get a list of those yet, but I'm sure I'll find one eventually.

That would probably recquire one to contact every Prefectual, Regional and Manicipal government and council in Japan... A seriously daunting task given that every region, city and town celebrates unique festivals and holidays that aren't always celebrated everywhere else.
