i hope the anime isn't going to be with the game graphics cause that would suck. Can i expect drawn, or cell shaded graphics?

Viewtiful Joe (Anime)

I hope this is the right place to put this. If it's not, my humbleset appologies, as I did do a search and found no existing topic. My question is, does anyone know whether any fansubbers will be doing it, or if it will be downloadable at all? Game was great, and I loved the anime commercials they had for it, which are shown on Capcoms site.

Well I'd wager it follows the games story, to some extent at least. Since it's 52 episodes, it probably spans into Viewtiful Joe 2 the game as well. Here's a snippet from a news article off of Gamespot.

"Capcom also announced that a new anime series based on the Viewtiful Joe games will begin airing in Japan starting October 2. The Saturday morning anime will broadcast in six TV Tokyo-affiliated stations throughout Japan every week from 9:30am to 10:00am. Like the game, the anime will feature Joe in an adventure thatís packed with enemies, stylish action, and comedy."

Starts this Saturday, that's why I decided to ask somewhere. Animesuki forums come up a lot in other forums etc, so I figured I'd try here. If you want to know about the game itself, Joe takes his girlfriend to see a movie. She gets sucked into it, as does he. The superhero of said movie gives Joe a V-Watch, and he can transform into Viewtiful Joe. Viewtiful Joe site.

How's that?

IIRC one group said they would do it.
Don't remember who, but I'm fairly sure someone did.

I do ChibiGoku, it's just my thread I had made in a wrong board, was merged with this one. I searched for Viewtiful in the wrong area. Sorry for that. Oh, and did you decide to do the VJ anime out of fondness for the game?

I watched the promo. Looks like it's aimed towards the younger audience. Not my type of anime.

The Fansub forum is for discussing anime series currently available as fansubs. Since this is just a promo (you seemed to create the thread just to promote or obtain feedback on your release), I've merged it with your previous thread in the Fansub Groups forum.

Characters are leaning toward the SD (super-deformed) form; you know, the big head and little body. A bit odd to see Western (and I mean, really Western) characters saying Japanese. Artwork and animation were generally smooth and well-done. Music, don't remember; hip-hop maybe? Storyline seems a bit on the weak side. Stereotypical (umm, better put this in a spoiler just in case )

Spoiler:

Wonder if anyone is going to go fan service as a result...

Very nice intro to the storyline, however. I think they introduced the main characters (and a bunch of monsters) within 10 minutes. They'll need to change Joe's transformation scenes a bit if it's going to be seen in the U.S., IMHO; the middle finger part might get people upset.

Geared toward the kiddy crowd.; about 7-12 yrs old, I'd say. There's humor in the show? I'd say if you like Shounen, you should give a go to a few episodes as a test.

Continue to watch? Umm, about a 6 out of 10 in favor so far. To put into perspective for the new series, "Beet" is about a 3, and "Mai Hime" is a 8.5 for me.

Hmmmm.......the episode's only half over thusfar, but I've noticed something interesting already. The lips aren't synched right for Japanese. Intentionally or not, they look like they were animated for the eventual dub.
