Will Ed and Al get their bodies back?
The show's already surprised me with some turn of events that I wasn't expecting (Nina). It hasn't exactly been one of those "feel good" animes. So I'm wondering, will they be able to return to their original bodies, or will death actually strike one or both of them?

Well your asking a question which we obviously don't know, remember this anime is supposely 52 episode long which a lot could happen. From my guess I don't think they would be able to get their bodies back but keep in mind i am purely speculating. I don't believe its possible to get something back from nothing unless they find what they are searching for and it does indeed go beyond the laws of alchemy and Ed & Al manages to get what they want back.

If that's true, I expect old tin suit man, uh, al I believe is his name, will be the one to give up his life for the other. Why not? He's already sacreficed a lot and hasn't had a body for years anyways, so why not? Besides, if he DOES get his body back, it's going to be 7 years old all over again, regardless of the passage of time.

Knowing how much Japanese anime writers love to kick their fans' butts all over the place, I guarantee something like this will come up. I haven't read the manga, but I'm sure they will find a way to get their bodies back. BUT: it will either require sacrificing some innocent people, or one of the brothers, or there is some item (Philosopher's Stone) that can only be used once, so they have to decide who gets their body back. And then probably they might be faced with the decision of getting Al's body back or risking another chance on getting their mother back. And once they decide, no doubt the writers will jerk our chains once again and make a situation come up where the brothers use the power to help someone else entirely. However I certainly can't see that hunk of junk walking around forever, so they'll have to do something to or for Al. |

Keitarou20, I wasn't asking this question hoping for a definite answer. Like you said, obviously no one knows the answer to it. But I was hoping to see what others thought (and there were some great theories out there). I also asked the question hoping to generate enough threads where it would only be logical for FMA to have its own forum.

So if the manga is still running, does that mean that it's going to run just like Naruto where they don't know the ending until the manga ends? That ought to make life interesting for the animators. I would probubly suspect that the manga is due to end soon, cause they'd have to since they have to finish before the series does....unless.....I wonder if the first 52 episodes are going to be like a season 1, then they will just let the manga get ahead a bit more before they go into a season 2. Hmm, that's entirely a possibility. Not saying that will happen, but it's a though.
