Not just figures but the character as well.

Cospa and Taki's are so disappointing though after collecting the other 3. Cospa's seems as if she's some impostor impersonating Horo.

My Fate/Unlimited Codes SP Box turned up today and it came with this.

Wasn't Misato's pistol a USP? I can't even tell what that is but it's not a USP.

And did they change Asuka's family name in the Rebuilds?

EDIT: So they did. Huh. Kind of liked Soryu.

They're from the Rebuild of Evangelion series, so perhaps Misato has a different weapon. I don't follow guns and such so it's not something I would have really noticed while watching Eva 1.0 or 2.0 vs the original series. Not even sure I recall her pulling out a gun in the movies...

Asuka's lastname changed I believe to keep some sort of consistancy in the series. Since all of the female characters lastnames in the series are from names of ships generally in World War I or II. I believe Soryu was an Aircraft carrier and Shikinami is a Destroyer, which matches up better with other characters in the series. Ayanami is a destroyer for example, and Katsuragi, a superior, was an Aircraft Carrier, as was Akagi. Makinami was also a destroyer.

I could be pulling things out of my ass, but I did find those connections when researching this topic in the past.

No you're quite right with the ship names and classes.

Still, I've never forgotten the scene from the series when she introduces herself to the class.

Oh well. Those figures look pretty good otherwise though. Any defects?

That's a really beautiful figure. Care to link to the manufacture/details of it?

I'm actually quite amazed with them given the fact they're Kotobukiya. Currently writing reviews for each of them that will go up on my website this week. Rei on Monday, Misato Wednesday, and Asuka Friday, each at noon if all goes to plan. Site's in my sig if you wanna check 'em out during the week.

The quick though, Misato's center of gravity is a bit off, she's prone to falling over, and has a black speck on her left arm. Excellent otherwise. Rei I think has a strange pose that makes me feel sorry for her and want to give her a shoulder massage, but how she holds onto her base is quite good. Asuka isn't well attached to her base but doesn't fall over like Misato, and is my favourite of the 3, though more because I like her character design better than she's of higher quality than the other two. Misato however I think stands out over the others just in that it's the only good Misato figure I've seen out there and Rei and Asuka have so many figures.

That's what I was worried about, I'm veyr new to the anime figure department but I hadn't heard that many good things about Kotobukiya but they look pretty good.

fallschirmjager I have that Misato figure I bought it when it first came out. And yes in that pic you can't see it to well but it is a USP. In fact it even has the F and S marks on the safety control lever, now that's detailed just like the real one which I have in my personal collection. But mines a 9mm hers was a 40 S&W.

Starburst I've never had a problem with mine falling over even when she is not on the base. For what she retails she gives my Misato from New Line statue which cost twice as much even though I got mine for half price.

Alright, thanks for clearing that up dfens. I've had a USP45 on my shopping list for well over a year now...

As for that Suzu figure. Damn it's hard to find one for sale for some exorbitant amount if finding one at all.

The search shall continue...

Didn't realize it was the girl from Nagasarete Airantou until I found the figure on some other sites with the series link.

Yay! Someone liked my Suzu figurine!
She was manufactured in 2008, so she's probably marked as discontinued everywhere... except mb Ebay :P

Here are pics made by manufacturer: http://myanimeshelf.com/figures/2353
Here are my pics: http://myanimeshelf.com/userphotos/Glory/2353

And I'd better warn you she has a very fragile pony-tale. She actually was the first figurine I received broken.
Here is the sad story: http://myanimeshelf.com/blog/Glory/2885
