Wow, finally got a PSP Slim; 50 bucks ain't bad, I must say.

Anyways, I'm already loving it. It's insanely light, Yggdra Union/Riviera were both given a fantastically updated port, Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology is fun, Dracula X Chronicles is quite good, and I can't wait to find Disgaea.

PSP beating in Japan.

| PSP | 51.095
| 3DS | 50.710

Funny thing is that the PSP is the one of those two that has been supply constrained...

Get a Monster Hunter for X-Mas sony and the Ngp and 3ds will be fairly close.. in japan anyway...

On the contrary I think the 3DS was needed since it ups the quality of games possible, also in Japan the PSP was killing the DS when it came to all those niche games... The PSP outsold the DS last year in Japan....

The thing about the 3DS is that adding optional 3D which has yet to be taken advantage of in any game in a game changing manner is not the same as how the stuff the DS added when it came out.

Also I remember a lot of people throwing scorn at the PSP for being a port machine yet it seems no one minds that the 3DS is getting all these ports.

Tricky question, do you get the UMD versions, with the bonus/product code, or the DD PSN version, which will be useable on the vita?

Shining Blade coming to the PSP. Source: andriasang.com
Rumours are it will be using BLiTZ, I am not sure if someone it mixing it up with the CANVAS engine, but there you go.

New info regarding shining blade

HP launched: http://shining-world.jp/blade/
Other news can be found on andriasang.com,article 1, article 2

Other development regarding PSP games. It look like new games are being market as PSV as well, but in most cases it seems that it just means you can get it from PSN.

So, with the Vita having a release date now (I know I'm behind the times), does SONY drop the price on the PSP in February?

I've been holding out on getting a PSP for a really long time, but I still want to get one. I don't want to get one now in late October if there is going to be a decent price drop in late February. It's not like I need it tomorrow. I've waited this long, I can wait another four months.

I know they make them, I just haven't seen them in retail here in U.S. It was tough enough for me to find a 16 GB card at reasonably price.

and capacity accepted can easily changed with firmware release.

Not sure about the States, but you can get them here in camera shops and sony stores. But you won't find them in superstores, supermarkets and such.
The only memory stick I haven't seen are the XC, which on sheet goes up to 2TB. After sony cameras start using SD cards, development for memory stick seemed to have stopped. However it is likely that technology is used in it, is now being used for their new memory card format for the Vita.

I usually have more luck finding large size card when I go back to Asia to visit/work. 32 GB are hard to find and incredibly expansive to order online.
