I was reading some stuff about soul eater on wika today and when i was reading about patti and i go to the Trivia part at the bottom of the page it reads

"Though not clear, it is hinted in the salvage arc's beginning, that Patty likes Kid more then a partner. "

Pretty sure they're talking about something that never actually happened. Or something that only happened within their imagination.

But heck, it's a wiki, so you can always check the history of that page to see who actually added that statement, and then ask that person directly WTF they're talking about.

In general, though, I wouldn't pay much attention to anything on the Soul Eater wikia unless it's backed up with a specific citation from the anime or the manga. A lot of stuff gets edited in there without any reference to the source materials, especially shipping "evidence" like the lovely piece of BS that you just cited.

As has been stated before, that site still needs some work.

I've pondered whether or not Tsubaki could be described as "spent."
When Maka and Soul are in action, it's fairly easy to think of them as a pair. It's an immediately registered understanding that the girl is Maka and the scythe is Soul.
However, when Black*Star pulls out a few new techniques every battle, many of which involve a new form for Tsubaki, I don't make the connection as easily for Tsubaki as I would for Soul.
I was thinking of this because of the volume 18 cover. It depicts Black*Star swinging Tsubaki in Masamune form, but most Black*Star. Volume 16 depicts Maka and Soul looking all cool together, comfortable in their developed characters and easily-associated appearances. (Yes, and Blair.)

My counterargument is that Tsubaki's forms, like that large shuriken used against Chrona or the many swords used against the Cyclops, still fit Tsubaki's unique visual style. It's well known that Tsubaki works best as an asset of sorts to Black*Star, but is this because everything we needed to know was revealed during the showdown with Mifune?
I'm still happy to see Black*Star and Tsubaki getting stronger and developing new techniques. It's justified because we know they're both strong, they match each other well, and, just maybe, because all of the major interactions between Tsubaki and Black*Star have already happened.

Agree or disagree?

I'm being unimaginative here, but I assume there should be at least one further milestone before Tsubaki's development could be considered 'spent'. Tsubaki being as awesome as she already is, it is a bit mindblowing (at least to me) to think of it, but the thing is she has yet to become a Deathscythe. Of course at the moment it is all Black*Star, and he's gotten a major individual power up, but I imagine Tsubaki attaining her completed state would even things out a little, and also provide new grounds for character development.

Well we still need a back-story on Tsubaki's clan and by extension the creation of the first demon weapons 800 years before the current storyline. So that could be used as a set up for character development if Atsushi deems the time right.

So yeah, I wouldn't say Tsubaki could be described as 'spent'.

Then again Tsubaki's more of a background character. She doesn't like the spotlight while Black Star craves it. So she rarely get a chance to shine. Also in my interpretation of the SE characters she isn't really a main character. The only main characters are Maka, Soul, Kid and Black Star.

Not to mention we still have a few loose ends regarding Mifune (i.e. Angela and what happened with Mifune's soul). Loose ends that Tsubaki could play a mayor part in tying.

I agree that there is more yet to come, but does Tsubaki have much of a chance to become a Death Scythe? It isn't really an important issue for them and I think we've yet to see Soul's full potential.

@Repelsteeljtu
It has been apparent even in the most recent chapters that Mifune's death still profoundly affects Black*Star. As long as Angela isn't forgotten, I think Tsubaki will still have enough to do.

Just a quick question, I finally got the anime up to Episode 36 after the battle with Mosquito, should I read chapter 37 to follow along with the manga? Or where do I start off with the manga if I watched that far? I heard it deviates from the manga plot at this episode.

That's true and the artstyles of the anime and manga are pretty similar at that point. So It's a good place to start.

For a better understanding of the machanics of souls I'd recommend you read the three one shot chapters that feature Maka vs Blair, Black Star vs Mifune (round one) and Death the Kid vs The Pharaoh. Beacuse there are no pre-kishins in the manga...

I'd also recommend that you read the introduction of Free (chapters 10-11) because the anime skipped a big chunk of the fight.

But those things can come after you've caught up to the manga.

I'm posting this question on two separate forums because I'm not sure which is more appropriate. I just began watching the anime and suddenly a question popped into my head: "What wound happen if a Shinigami eats a Kishin egg?"

Please respond with honest answers. Do you think it's possible? If so, what do you think would likely be the result or outcome? If not, why? Please explain your answers by supporting them with logic, whether it be canon information obtained from the anime or manga or your own fan fiction theory.

Personally, I don't see why it would happen in the first place. Only weapons eat kishin eggs; Shinigami's a meister.

Short version of what I said in the other thread:
Death the Kid can store souls in his body to decide what to do with him later. This doesn't make him strong or insane or anything.
Spoiler for Example from manga:

I really wouldn't know about Bones' anime cannon, but in Atsushi's manga cannon there are no Kishin eggs and it's doubtfull whether Shinigami can even eat souls. What Shinigami do with souls is anyone's guess .

Consuming souls grants one more power. That's the obvious reason. In the anime humans can eat souls so Shinigami should be able to do that was well. I figure being eaten by Shinigami beats being used as fertilizer which is what Shinigami actually does in the 2008-2009 anime.

Gawd, why must that stupid disgrace constantly be brought up in the Manga discussion thread? I spent a year trying to forget that gecko ending. (Isn't ardressing anyone in particular other then God of course)

To get us slightly back on track I've been wondering: How did Excalibur get in the Book of Eibon? Did Noah "collect" him or did he just waltz in?

"[...] One day a man holding the book of Eibon appeard and brought me here."
- Excalibur, Soul Eater chapter 74, page 21.

So yeah I guess he got 'collected'.
