We didn't exactly miss it. At least I am not sure whether it's licensed or not. And as other staff members didn't add it either I guess they have the same "problem"
Everything else (OVA, TV, movies) ist licensed bei either AnimEigo or ADV according to my information.

Maybe you can shed some light on why you consider it not licensed

I guess because there is no reliable information available on the internet regarding the license status of it, and AnimeIgo has released all the other OAVs, Movies, and TV series going back close to ten years ago yet never included this is any of them, even in the special pre-order only LD and DVD boxes (yes, I own them all). If they were planning on releasing this (e.g. owning the rights to it) the logical thing to have done would be to have released it along with the rest of the series when the interest was peaked, no?

The general concensus among VHS fansub distributors who respect american licenses since AnimeIgo announced they would be subbing the TV in the mid 1990's has been that this is one of the few unlicensed Kimagure Orange Road items left.

Asides for all that, the company who owns the distribution rights for this in Japan is a seperate entity from the one who owned the rights for the TV, so that would probably explain why it was not included with the rest in a package.

^^;

Thank you.

Although the story line is used in the anime as well but as setting is different (Hot vs Cold)

So I guess that's why nobody bother to license it. And voice case seems to be different than the production. Ayukawa sounds younger/cuter here than the production voice. May be it is the same actress but act differently.

Anyhow, thanks for this little gem.

BTW, do you know any forum dedicated to Oragne Road that's still quite active?

Yeah, it was different voice actors for a few of the characters.

I wish I knew of a KOR forum.

I recently watched the whole KOR franchise. I then saw this Pilot for download and grabbed it. I wondered why it wasn't an extra on a DVD.

I don't think many people talk about this series anymore. All I know is that cels from it are damn expensive. It has a dedicated following but it seems to be pretty small.

The other day, I saw someone on this site that had an Ayukawa avatar. First KOR reference I've seen on this forum other than maybe 2 people mentioning it when I did a search for threads about the show.

Yeah, following isn't as good as the other awesome romance series in the 80's: Maison Ikkoku.

I think Inuyasha kinda act as an lead in for people to check out other Takahashi's work. It could be why I see a steady growth in MI fans while KOR see none.

I got here by google BTW.

Gonna have to check this Pilot out... I've watched quite a fair bit of KOR myself... I'm dying to watch the Movie as it looks really nice visually...

It's strange that even though the anime is licensed the manga has yet to be... it was actually just recently completed (I mean the scanlations of it into english)...

Madoka Ayukawa is a goddess...I would give anything to have a girl like her.

Minmay and the Naoko are hot also.

Not to mention Naru and Misato

*sheds a tear* I love my room.

Woah, dude, get a grip.

Have you been outside lately, seen the sun?

I will say that Ayukawa is probably my favorite anime character.

There's an interesting review of the pilot here: http://www.animeclassicreviews.com/2...cial-1985.html

Seeing as how it was written in 2007, I don't think this would be Live-Evil's updated version. Rather it may have been Oppai's 2004 version on the tracker: http://www.animesuki.com/series.php/421.html

Or maybe someone else's work (I don't know what stuff ACR actually does, they were credited with actually fansubbing a lot of what they review but I know some of it is by BOX).
