Minami Kamakura High School Girls Cycling Club

Minami Kamakura High School Girls Cycling Club (Also known as Minami Kamakura Koukou Joshi Jitenshabu) is getting an anime adaptation.

Plot Summary
Quote:
Maiharu Hiromi has moved from Nagasaki to Kamakura at the start of her high school years. Kamakura is a beautiful, mountainous place, with a view of the sea and Mt. Fuji, and Hiromi is thrilled to explore the area. Hiromi hasn't ridden a bike since she was very young, but she attempts to ride to her first day of school anyway. In her case, riding a bike does not come naturally, and she ends up bumping into her first friend, Tomoe, who helps her learn how to ride. It turns out Tomoe is going to be in Hiromi's class, and their teacher is also a cyclist. Now Hiromi's exciting high school life, full of new friends and learning about cycling is about to start!

Hmm ... I might have read a chapter of this series a few years back, but it did not make much of an impression on me at the time. Sports anime are a hard sell for me. But hey, I guess I will give it a shot - I gave the other cycling series a shot (Yowamushi Pedal) so may as well do this one too.

I remember the story having nice landscape drawings but being pretty boring - though it was only one chapter and my memories are not too clear.

The one interesting detail to note about this is that the guy behind Bodacious Space Pirates's novel illustrations did the manga and I actually remembered various artworks that come out before even though my memories were also fuzzy. Besides, there's also Baku-On! coming soon, imagine what will the animedom react if the two airs in the same season?

Hoping the casts for MoPi will be cast for this anime. Yeah! That will ease my yearning for another season of MoPi. _(:3 」∠)_

I wouldn't call Baku-On "riding on the success of YowaPeda", really.

I'm referring to the fact that companies are deciding to make all these riding themed mangas into anime after the success of YowaPeda. I hardly think this is a coincidence.

I lost interest in YowaPeda pretty quickly. If Minami Kamakura is more slice-of-life than sports then I might get into it, otherwise cycling just doesn't work for me.
