live-action commericals.........
ED parodies (okay, everyone knows those, but the new ones are freaky).........
-TV cover
-KUT-TAN cover
-new vipper guy
-..........

and more Mikuru Beams (F/SN and Gundam crossovers).............

People are getting insane if you ask me...

Has anyone heard Kyon give his real name? I don't remember seeing it in the anime or the currently translated part of the novel. He says he doesn't like it when people call him Kyon, but never corrects them. I think maybe he only thinks he has one.

or it could just be just unimportant, at this moment.

The mere fact that he mentions it and you just don't know what it is, and thry don't care, is suspicious. perhaps if you knew what his REAL name is, you will get the whole story of who kyon is, and what his relationship with Haruhi.

I think we won't find out...if ever. only left guessing until the VERY END.

I mean it wasn't like that, then his real name would of been mentioned then simply move on with the story, and using of hid nickname.

After all, in alot of religion once you know an non-human/divine entities true name you are said to hold power over them.

there is no such thing as "thinking a little too much" for a haruhiist!

Only boring people think normal. (>.>)o

I found something really interesting.

Scroll down until you see the screenshot of Kyon looking out of the door, just before Haruhi drags Mikuru in. Now pay attention to the table in front of the door.

In the first screenshot, the table is empty.
Next, after Haruhi dragged Mikuru-chan in, a blue bag suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
The next shot shows the bag mysteriously disappearing again.

Now some speculate that this isn't really a mistake by Kyo-Ani, but is deliberate, since...

Spoiler for volume 3-5:

only the ignorant would consider this a mistake, as everyone knows, with the amount of details KyoAni puts in it.. There are no accidents or coincidence in Haruhi's world!!

Please stay on topic people. Even though this is somewhat of a "general" catch all thread now and not entirely useful at this point (since we have an entire forum), there's no reason to post just "anything" here. The topic at hand is Suzumiya Haruhi .... general information & discussion that might not fit in the episode threads.

Thanks.

/Edit: This is realated to a handful of posts I deleted and not any post that's still here or on this particular page.

What is Catgirl trying to say? I don't understand. I don't see anything offtopic at the moment.

Exactly, I don't see what I've posted as off topic.

If this isn't the "random Suzumiya Haruhi" thread, then I don't know where else to post this information, and I myself don't believe it ought to fall into the episode 2 thread because it deals with something more general. If what I'm discussing isn't general information & discussion (as I quote from Catgirls), I don't know what it is.

Don't mean to offend, but if you mods find that it becomes a problem, why don't you create one for interesting random posts (as opposed to spam-like random posts of course) like these then since you've disabled the making of threads?

That's not what I meant. I deleted a handful of posts that were political commentary unrelated to and had nothing to do with the show. I don't care if you post random thoughts about Suzumiya Haruhi as long as they're about the show and not Nazi Germany in the 1940's or Japanese politics (unrelated to the show). Most of what's posted here ISN'T off topic...but there WERE 12-14 post that had nothing to do with the show.

The reason you don't see any off topic posts is because I deleted them. My post was to let the parties involved know to please say on topic. It has nothing to do with anyone else.

That's all. Iím not trying to restrict your posting about Suzumiya Haruhi. Just trying to keep the Spam down. Cheers.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I should have made myself a bit more clear in my original post. Sorry about that. Always working to become a better Mod...

ohh

your referring to those, that was a billion-trillion-zillion HARUHI years ago.

They have disappeared in the mist of Haruhi-time.

You should of said so in the beginning, can't expect us to remember ancient history, what you think we are? Normal? (shock/horror! I@AM NOT BORING!)

*postrates in front of Haruhi the Almighty*

sheesh.

It's a pretty nice find... actually. But I wonder if it's just a mistake. That scene is the first time the SOS-dan met (in the anime) in that room. The bookbag flashes in and out before the SOS-dan is even named... and before Mikuru is "pulled" into the club.

At that time, Yuki is present, and Mikuru is about to enter the room... Itsuki, in theory, has yet to transfer into the school.

I'd believe this to be a deliberate action on KyoAni's part... if we actually saw Kyon set to bookbag down. But maybe the novel readers know something I don't know? I'm forced to assume from the location of the bookbag that it's Kyon's bag. But we never see him set it down, nor does he pick it up.

Here's the basic timeline from ep1, the scene is Mikuru's introduction to Yuki and Kyon, extending to when Haruhi names the club.

BTW... If this is a simple mistake on KyoAni's part... I want the last fifteen minutes of my life back T_T

@17m:56s We see Kyon leave his classroom with his bag over his shoulder.
@18m:22s Kyon is sitting down in the chair, with his left hand in his pocket (the hand that we would expect to be holding his bookbag). The bookbag does not appear on the table.
@18m:30s Kyon is looking at the just opened door, his left hand is still in his pocket... but the bookbag has appeared on the desk.
@18:52 We see the table + bookbag again while Haruhi is introducing Mikuru. Note that Haruhi's bag is totally absent, we saw her leave the classroom with it but she's not carrying it now.
@19m:30s We see a side view of the table, sans bookbag. Although the angle of the shot is such that it's possible the bag would be invisible.
@19m:44s We have a much cleaner view of the side of the table as Haruhi is talking about Moe and turn-ons. The mystery bookbag is still absent, and from this angle it should be visible.
@20m:21s We have an overhead view of the desk... The bookbag is clearly missing.
@20m:34s We see another view of the room... wherever that bag goes when it's not visible, it's definitely spending a lot of time there now.
@20m:46s This feels weird... "Bookbag still missing" report? I'm going to need to find a better way to describe where the bookbag isn't.
@20m:56s I don't even have to say it... You already know right? Bookbag is _______. You can fill in the blank there, but I'll give you a clue. It's a seven letter word that starts with the letter M and ends with ssing.
@21m:26s That bookbag is travelling to fun and exciting places, I wonder if it's stuck in a lock-down dimension atm?
@21m:41s We have a really fast zoom into the room as Haruhi tells us the name of the newly formed club. No bookbag in this scene either.
@22m:00s Kyon has a dictionary that he obviously didn't get from that wonderous bookbag... but this is literary club, so they probably have dictionaries on the bookcases in the room.

We never see anyone interacting with the bookbag, nor does it seem important to the characters in the room. Dunno... it's a mystery.

See, when you have a show like Haruhi, if you make any mistakes, you can cover them up with dimensional theories and time jump postulates XD

Thing is though, this means i have to rewatch all the episodes to see if this happens again. If it does then we can assume that this theory is valid, but if not, then it might be a real mistake.
yup yup. must rewatch all the episodes again.....
