Just as good the second time around. I'm liking non-psycho Rena a lot more this time. (she kinda got on my nerves in all but the last arc the first time) I still like the Sonozaki sisters more, though.

So, just out of curiosity, how many of you are watching season 1 again before season 2 starts?

I still say it's better to just discuss those things in the spoiler threads. Sometimes, people end up clicking on those things because they are poorly marked and getting spoiled. It's already happened to me. This is just for general Higurashi discussion, not massive spoilers.>_>

Hello,

I've just finished watching Higurashi for the first times, both in two sittings. Just amazing <---(understatement)

The second run-through I found the TIPS invaluable. However, I'm wondering just how much I should read of the TIPS beyond episode 26; I don't want to spoil things for season 2. Can I read all of them?

Also, is it okay to read all the other "Answers" and "Pieces" stickeys, or should I be cautious about spoilers for season 2 in them as well? I can't afford to get the games or drama CDs, so I don't mind getting info contained in them

Thanks!

I'd avoid them until season two has fully aired.

I forgot what episode this is in during the first arc, but it's when K1 is just starting to go insane. After he finds Satoshi's baseball bat, Rika emphasizes that he should make sure to keep it on him. I found this sort of odd, as I thought that Rika should have realized that K1 was turning insane in this chapter.

Not really. On WIND and "official french DVD" translation, both state that Rika asked Keiichi to not lose the bat.
Since it belongs to satoshi, that bat might have heavy memories for Satoko, which explains her comment.

I don't recall, but it can be seen on the DVD and probably the fansubs too.

Normally, her clothes are odd on this episode, but I thought her pants were green or something.

Either way, they're still the wrong color.O_O How does something like that happen without them noticing or at least fixing before it went on DVD?

Wow...after Elfen Lied I thought no anime could faze me....

But I was wrong. I can NOT watch Higurashi...three episodes was enough. I know I'm probably missing out on a great series but this thing SCARES ME. It gives me a very very bad feeling much like Shadowstar Narutaru...and I haven't finished that show either.

you shouldn't pay let the atmosphere get you too much. it is still an anime after all ^^"

frankfully, the first arc is only a side dish, the main meal will come later on, and it will gradually turn into something more realist and anxious, rather than brutish creeps and scary moments.

It isn't as absurd as Narutaru, so frankly, go ahead.

No, I really don't think I can. And my friend who just bought it and showed it to me said he doesn't think he can watch any more either after episode 5. I went around looking at blogs of the eps and from the screencaps....I'm not going to regret withdrawing from this one.....

*shivers*

On rewatching episode 8 in the R1 DVDs, something struck me. Could someone clearify this?

Spoiler for about the doll:

For about the 5th time.

I'm a late-comer, but an extremely dedicated one.
