Dracula's Castle for $100 million

http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/Internatio...2942213&page=1

Yes, it's true. The count (not really, the count don't own it) is selling his castle for 100 million USD. 57 rooms.

Lets all pitch in here on animesuki. 51,024 registerd members, probably about 5000 active users. 100000000/5000 = 20k or $20000 USD each. We can try out of medieval castle siege at last.l

It's interesting enough. Hollywood should buy it and use it extensively for their movies. Bill Gates too ^_^.

ps: They might as well ebay the castle.

lol i read that on 4chan. I don't really think that device will work and like some of the others says, the injury will induce the rapist to become more violent.

I hate to be a disgusting son-of-a-bitch here, but doesn't the inventor of this device know that a sick rapist might come along and may not want to rape someone the conventional way?

"How many Germans can Switzerland take"

"This is not a comedy sketch, rather an advertising campaign by the Swiss tabloid Blick which is asking readers if they have had enough of 'cheap workers, arrogant expressions and objectionable self-confidence'. It has launched a new anti-German age."

You gotta love the fate. Germans who have used and insulted the immigrants over the years in many ways in their own country seem to have been forced to act like those immigrants and are facing insults in a similar way in another country. I wish they would have migrated to France, then we would have a lifetime worth of fun seeing how those two would try to insult each other each and every day using different "democratic" means (=democratic insult). Unfortunately, neither are in good condition to serve us that beautiful fest.

Swiss having a military is one of the most absurd things I've ever heard.

Maybe they are deceiving everyone, under the neutrality mask, by preparing very powerful(!) military power in great secrecy, and waiting for the right moment to take over the world or just Europe. He he, I wonder how many hours will it require for them to walk through the Champs-Elysees Ave... (let's see, converting this to a bid-scale, the negative-bidding starts with 1 day, and the bidding closes when we reach 1 hour...) It's sad to write this, while listening to Edith Piaf, well, anyways...

Another question, if that happens, will US be fast enough to react as they reacted to what Iraq did to Kuwait? I guess, at this moment, it is highly likely that they would just sit back and enjoy the moment in hand.

For decades the Swiss Guard has been stationed at the Vatican as permanent Armed Forces.

If the information on Wikipedia is correct, it is actually more than a few centuries (since 1506). Anyway, they might be more like the Band of the Hawks from Berserk, so, that group does not exactly count as the army, especially since they go protect another country for money...

Building a military is very costly, but it's not like the swiss can't afford it either way. They are top 10 in standard of living, and they do do have a large GDP of 264 billion and ranked 39th for PPP (Purchasing power parity). Their money goes a long way. Right under famed USA. While china is becoming very large as as super power (which they are already) they still have a large proportion of low paying jobs with a majority with bad overall education.

Here's the top ten:
  1. Norway
  2. Iceland
  3. Australia
  4. Ireland
  5. Canada
  6. Sweden
  7. Japan
  8. United States
  9. Switzerland
  10. Netherlands

Ahahaha! Best thing I have seen today.

But I think this should be on Haruhi forum, or on "A Laugh A Day" thread.

Here's an interesting news.
This is somewhat anime related, but there's nowhere for this to go other than here.

This year's Koushien baseball, one of the attending highschool team's pitcher's name is Tatsuya Uesugi.
Yes, the same name as the famed pitcher who went to Koushien baseball in highschool in the famous anime series Touch from the mid 80s.
His name is even spelled the same in kanji. 上杉達也

Is this a coincidence, or were his parents huge Touch fans, as well as baseball fans, and raised their son to become a pitcher?

*Koushien Baseball is annual tournament of the best highschool baseball teams in Japan. It's a HUGE event, one of the biggest sports event in Japan every year. There are many manga/anime about highschool baseball teams making into the Koushien, and Touch is one of the most famous one of them all.

That, I would like to know too.

Anyways, I posted this in the Gundam model thread also,
but I figure it's a news story, and it's worth mentioning it here too.

Bandai Press Release.
A model of RX-78 Gundam made in 1,400g of PURE Pt1000 Platinum was created for a jewery show for GINZA TANAKA jewery.
The headpiece uses 0.15 karat diamonds to finish up the beauty.
Cost for the figure is estimated at around $250,000.
Yeah, instead of Pla-model's "Pla" being plastic, it's PLATINUM.

The art direction of this over-priced model was done by the famed mecha designer, Hajime Katoki himself.

ZOMG... some people have WAY too much money.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's another silly news from Japan.
Yamato Transport co., known for the kuronekoyamato, announced several months ago that one of their employees took home a data containing customers personal information, and accidently leaked out to the internet through use of P2P softwares such as winny.

Anyways, on 3/23, Yamato announced that "All the leaked data has been deleted from the network."

...................................say WHAT!? HOW!?

Was the public's reaction, of course.
Anyone who has the slightest knowledge of internet would know that's physically IMPOSSIBLE.
After many calls and suggestions, Yamato edited their announcement on their page. They merely meant that the leaking computer has been taken care of, and no data is further exposed to the internet.

Damn, and here I thought a super-hacker on the level of Neo has emerged from Yamato Transport!
