well now that we know OP is not licensed, I'm wondering why more group hasn't jumped on fansubbing OP? As much as I appreciate K-F's work, competition is ALWAYS good, it just brings out the best in ppl (faster eps is always a good thing)...It's not like OP is a bad series, in fact it is probably one of the top 3 series on going in japan at this moment, so I'm just wondering why we haven't seen more groups pick up OP??

i guess ppl are picking up that OP really isnt liscenced. HK subs, Neko-Factory and some other are competiting with KF, and in terms of eps they have more. But honestly no group can compete with KF. KF puts ALL there work on OP and OP alone, itll be hard for other subbers to get ppl to watch there eps. They'll be behind in eps too. Honestly would u put work in something which wouldnt be seen. KF has this one in its bags.

well I'm not saying K-F isn't the best, because they are with the current state it is, there really isn't any serious competition around. But, we've all seen how some groups just suddenly start translating in the middle of a series because someone else has done the beginning (and maybe dropped out)...since K-F is currently up to only 73 ep, it would make more sense if someone like anime-keep, junkies, etc would just suddenly pick up from 74 and on...I mean it's not like no OP fan is NOT going to watch their EPs if they come out faster than K-F (and are quality, of course)....

give kf a little competition might be good, they produce faster work. They can do it, its just that they ovbiously have lives. Ive KF do 2 eps in 3 days. Maybe a little competition MIGHT push them. If i was a subber tho, i wouldnt bother trying. KF is all they do they can produce eps much faster than other subbers who have other work to do.

I think groups should start at differnt episodes like K-F is at 74 so another group could start at 100 or 110 and another group could start at episode 150, you get the picture. That way when one group reaches an episode where another group started subbing you could just move on and download all those subbed episodes instead of having to wait painfully for the next release.

I know personally that even if another group did pick up One Piece, it would not rush K-F. In fact, I think it's pretty insulting to them that any of you think they need pushing. They really work hard at it on a daily basis and just because you don't see the results in the form of 174 eps by next Tuesday will not change that.
If you're really desperate for the series, read the manga or get the HK dvd rips :/ That's my best advice. Last edited by dythim; 2003-12-13 at 10:47. Reason: Removed a no-no. |

We are curently putting all our effort to producing high-Q One Piece and these things consume time. We do not want to rush and degrade the quality, not for this wonderful series. If you think that we're releasing them slowly, we can only ask you guys to wait, patiently. We're doing this as a fan for the fans. Obviously, you guys can also download the manga if you just can't wait. But I'm not gonna tell you where to dl them. Thank you and have fun. |

While competition may be good for capitalism, sometimes I dont think its all that great for anime. Sure, it may get things done faster, but is that what we want? I would rather wait the few extra days and get excellent rips, excellent subbing and even notes on why they change things (like the whole orange to tangerine deal? Makes me appriciate K-F even more) instead of getting poor translations, hard to read text and/or confusing changes.

K-F has nice quality subs for this show... just like A-O does for Prince of Tennis... both shows get released at turtle speed... but I'm pretty content with the slow releases since they tend to release good quality fansubs!
