I think that the Internet is the greatest invention of all time. I don't know what I'd do without it. Well... for one, I'd have a lot more friends. ^__^

Lemme ask you. Have you ever played an MMO? If so each one of the in game players can be considered a potential friend.

Games such as ragnarok and WoW breed friends. There for if you have played a MMO you have tons of friends or can have tons xD.

They talk about that in the link I put, about 'Awesome You', and how soon more people will know your online persona than know you. Fortunately, I still know more people in person at the moment... at the moment...

To me the Intenet is used to group of computer connected to each to share information. One way to look at it, most people want to disturbute porn. People with better things to do with their life use it for business purpose, sharing/gathering information, and entertainment (not porn).

Spoiler:

You can do almost everything through the Internet now. In the near future you can even track your kids through the Internet to make sure they do not go anywhere you do not want them to go (hint: GPS capability in cell phones linked to an alert system in a location-based service). I know this because I just went for an interview at a company that does this.

But its the porn stuff that gives it the worst name. These guys (and lets face it, its mostly guys) that get off on porn. Geddalife guys. Especially kiddy porn. What sickos!!!!!!

The internet is also for shopping!

The internet is just a damn good way of communicating. My university communicates to students via e-mail, I do so with my friends too. I can use a messenger service to talk to my family back home but I usually use the telephone anyway. I can research on topics I did not fully understand on the internet and it will save me from buying expensive books which contain a lot of irrelevant content.

For leisure, I can use it for anime, gaming with voice (teamspeak/ventrilo), reading and posting on forums like this one.

The internet is a great thing. At the same time it isn't so great. When I do research, I sometimes tend to start browsing forums and reading news articles and then end up not doing work at all. At the same time, it helps me out so much.

It is a fake world with real aspects. In other terms you can call it the "Digital World". Its fake in that its not physically existent. Its a world of information, compiled of numbers and letters. Each type of software reacts different to each different type if information and its aspects. Its real in that real people use it and bring real emotions and facts into this digital world.

The internet can be a way of unplugging from the world of the real and plugging into the world of digital were anything goes. With the internet you can be anyone and have any kind of personality and attributes.

We have seen most of these facts in Online games usually refered to as MMOs. Though the actual game world is fake the people and emotions in them are real. Thus making this realm a realm of the real and unreal. Being able to dive into a world were anything is possible when you come from a world with limits is almost like a drug. You are free to do almost anything, see anything, and your imagination flies. Sometimes, like in MMOs you dont even have to think. The games developers came up with a world and its aspects, and when you plug into the world they created, thier ideas are now to some extent a reality. This is why online games are so amazing, your can make your imagination come to life. Now thats were games on counsles such as ps2, gamecube, xbox are limited to some degree. Most games on these "systems" are limited to just 1-4 players with the exception of the connection they can have with the internet.

The future of games lay in the internet, every gammer knows when they play a game that is limited to a max of lets say 20 people, you begin to wonder what about the rest of the world? Thats were MMOs come in and dominate. MMOs create a new world for real world people. A world without the limits of the "real" to a great extent. And anyone around the world with an internet connection can possibly play. It just sounds great right? Even better is you can choose when and how you play. And in fact you actually learn from the game, (how to save money, invest, relationships, other). You are in a world were, there are so many different people and each of them has different ideas, personalities, and thoughts.

Now the internet without games n play n entertainment is a internet of pure information. Some websites provide it for free and some ask for compensation. Depending on the informations importance/quality/secrecy all effect its access.

In a way you can call the internet the world. It is the world compiled, compressed and presented in information format. The internet is still young and look at what it provides already! Just think what 20 years of advancement has led the world to? Now think what the next 20 years will lead to. Can you even think of what it will be like?

As for an internet melt down, that well could be a possibility, but with so much invested in it, a meltdown will be prevented at almost all costs. And if it actually did meltdown, another form of internet would emerge, simply because the internet provides things that make life easier/better.

Personally i see pornagraphy as too accessable. I have seen cases were 12yr olds run into the stuff and end up addicted to it, leading them to prostitution and disease. Should pornography be illegal? No. If somone wishes to view or be involved with that its there choice, but there needs to be a limit. And that limit should be age. When you reach 18 years of age you should have access but under that age i think it is important to restrict access. Of course this is an idea that is almost impossible to achieve, but must be strived for.

Personally i use the internet for, entertainment- games/anime/music/other. Also to learn- college/news/other. And i intend to use it for more as more becomes available.

In all and all i think its safe to say that the internet is and can be used for anything. Yes it is limited in physical terms, but as we have seen, information can instruct and command depending on the software. That is were AI/robots come in. The possibilities are limitless. The world of "Digital" has only just begun.
Well that may be true. We do commence many of our activites on the internet, eh? It's a really good place to expand your horizon.

Meeting friends that are actually reliable is something rather hard to find on the internet. But everyone has their own life to live, and we can't spend all of our times on the internet. (unlike some people I know, World of WarCraffft, cough....cough, excuse me).

I sometimes find it almost impossible to study for college. I wake up at 6am-8am, depending on the day: go to school, come home, work from 3-9 (also depending on the day), come home, eat, study or do homework, sleep, then repeat. After this there's really few times to do any time consuming periods on the internet. Today i'm lucky, and I have a school activity that doesn't start till 7pm so i'm off work today. I also have to add 1hours to 1 1/2 hours of driving.

---

GhostTX - that movie was pretty funny.
