Lots of people like typical. Though I would hardly call F/SN a typical HentaiGame->Anime, it does have some symptoms of the genre.

Mecha, Action and Slice Of Life stories are often just as typical. Almost all of anime and fiction in general follows one pattern or another because those patterns appeal to us on a subconcious level. It's not something you can escape completely. But what the best series do is go deeper than the formula. Some might call Haibane Renmei a slice of life anime, but it has very little to do with something like Sister Princess. And this is just my personal opinion, but the former is infinately better than the latter.

I think F/SN has that deeper element to it. But again this is all my opinion.

Most of the problems you have with Hentai game anime dont apply to Fate/stay night, which feature an epic story with deep characters. Maybe you should try making a thread in General Anime discussion for this instead of in Fate/stay night

I see that some people wants him dead and were talking about which of his ending was more satisfactory to them. Which makes me think that there's several different scenarios that all lead to his death in one way or another. So can someone please tell me if, in the game, there's a good ending for him? At least, an ending where he doesn't die?

I don't get why you guys hate Shinji so much, he's just a poor guy who got stuck playing the "low-life loser character" in the story. The poor guy even got trauma from it, and hanged around the edge of the dock all day rolled up in a ball throughout hollow ataraxia. And he's really a lonely person inside who competes with Issei all the time for Shirou's attention.

And after Sakura "reclaimed control" in HF, life in hollow ataraxia has been hell at the Matou house for poor Shinji and grandpa Zouken under the her iron fist rulings as well. Shirou and Shinji's (one-way) adventure into Sakura's room in search for her diary proved just how horrifying things are for our favorite loser.

Shinji and Shirou makes such a good comedic pair it would be a total waste to off him.

In the game, when one scenario plays out, do we assume that parts of the history from different scenarios never happened? Sort of like "They never mentioned it, so it never happened" kind of thing?

... like no worm, no abuse, no backstory, things pivotal to one scenario that took place before the story never happened etc etc?

I have a question, in the promo, Archer says "I am the bone of my sword" and I've seen people make reference to this line.

What the heck does it mean? Is it some japanese saying or is it some spoiling thing? I don't think he's said it in the anime yet...

Assuming my Japanese isn't as crappy as everyone says it is...The phrase in english "I am the bone of my sword" (Other one is "My body is made of swords" or something...)

*cough*(Sorry, had to do that, lol), which technically is nothing more than a graveyard of nothing but swords, and I think it had...Mechanical gears, was it? In the background...
He can take swords from it, all of them forged from his mana. His tracing ability requires him to only need to see the blade once, and he can make a perfect copy afterwards. He then uses them as his weapons, each sword equalling the power of a Noble Phantasm, or the level of the original item, but I think it goes down a level...Or something like that...My crappy knowledge of the Japanese language and such ; .;
It's kind of like Gate of Babylon, but instead of using his own weapons, they're traced swords (If you want to know more about Gate of Babylon, I know alot more about it than UBW, fortunately...). Which kind of explains the whole 'Archer is a dual sword using bowman' thing...
Well, enough of that, before I start needlessly ranting...

Meh...I've never played the HF storyline in F/sn...I'm curious to find out what happens now...
But I did enjoy the killing of Shinji...FATE = <3, ftw wh00t. ^^;

It's the first line of his activation keyword for his Noble Phantasm. Typical Engrish, but it's gotten pretty famous since everyone's making parodies of it.

The japanese that went along with that line was 体は剣でできている (karada ha ken de dekiteiru), which means "My body is made of swords" → Engrish "I am the bone of my sword". Parodies involve swapping the noun "sword" in the sentence for something else (For example, one of Neco Arc's victory lines in Melty Blood was: 体はネコでできている (I am the bone of my cat?)).

In one of H-scenes Rin makes a really funny face. What happened there? Did Shirou say something weird?
For what reason did she dress up like a mahou shoujo? And why did she hide in a box?
And a final question. What's the difference between limited and regular editions of F/sn and F/ha?

Actually, you'll be surprised to know that TYPE-MOON actually consulted an English translator for that quote (my sources regarding this is confidential, so I can't go further). The advisor went with the "I am the bone of my sword" because it resonates a deeper meaning than "my bone is made of swords."

Kyosu 虚数 (Imaginary Number) is a magic characteristic of Sakura's, it makes use of invisible "uncertainties" as a method of constriction and force. In other words, her shadow attacks. The shadows are created from her own negative emotions, and "forced" out with raw magic power. The sea of shadows and shadow flames are all examples of this. Since Sakura didn't receive proper trainings as a magician, making use of this forbidden skill carries the risk of succumbing to the negative emotions herself.

He probably did.

The mahou shojo thing is the work of Kohak... I mean Kaleidostick. A female only pleasent-style magic equipment created by Zelritch, Kaleidostick contains an artificial natural fairy personality (Kaleido Ruby).

The stick makes use of the Second Sorcery (Magic, whichever way you people call it), and is able to use access parallel dimensions and retrieve information on different versions of its contractor (Tohsaka Rin, in this case), and "equip" them on the current contractor. In other words, if Rin needed to become an expert on computers, then Kaleidostick can acccess a world where "Tohsaka Rin is a computer expert" and equip that property on the Tohsaka Rin in this world. As a (unnecessary) bonus, Koha... damn it I mean Kaleidostick also changes the contractor's clothings into a costume that matches the "role".

Simply put, it let's Rin transform (Prism Trance). Zelretch himself stated that once the contract is performed (through contact between the individual's blood and the stick), the contractor is as good as cursed. Shirou calls it plain brainwash. Rin accidently performed the contract with the stick once when she was little. By the time she regained conscious, she was laying in her room, the stick was inside the treasure chest with a note "Don't ever use this ridiculous stick again" written in her own writings, and she lost all her friends.

The treasure chest is also something from Zelretch, and makes use of Second Sorcery for storage. You can put anything into the chest and it will never fill up, regardless of how "full" it looks. A type of refractal dimension. Apprantely, if you try to use a cellphone inside the box, it connects to people from parallel worlds. Also, one hour inside the box is equal to one day outside.

The chest is easily opened from the outside, but very difficult to open from the inside, so try not to fall into it like Rin and Shirou did.

The first press edition of hollow ataraxia came with servant cards in a special box, the same cards from the game (you also see Kotomine throw them in the anime's OP).

The English in the rest of it was relatively normal, so the Engrish in this one stood out, that's all.
Doesn't change the fact that's it's awfully confusing though ^^;

that magical box is very powerful, one wonders if Rin ever tempted to do more than what she did in the game story.

I would be sorely tempted to abuse the box.
