I don't like Extra's endowed bust, seems like it was just an excuse to make her a little "extra". Changing a characters proportions (hell, anyone's really) throws the balance of their image out of whack, which is one reason I dinnae really like her.

I don't mind the change, but they shouldn't have done it simply because the character design is set and done with it. All they are allowed to change is the costume.

Erm, it's a different character design, because they're different people. Any similarities between the two are purely co-incidental (honest...), so there is no reason that Extra Saber should have the same sized breasts as FSN Saber.

Also, how could Nero hide a bigger bust? I could understand Arturia hiding hers, but Nero? Or Drake for that matter.

Well, yes, it would make sense if they did that. But, they clearly wanted to keep the Saber fans happy, so....

At least they changed her a bit. Rin and Sakura are almost identical, despite being totally different people (ditto Shinji, in fact). Honestly, the character designers were clearly just too damn lazy to come up with new characters, and also wanted to sell a few more copies by including look-a-likes (and, in Sakura and Rin's case, at least, act-a-likes) for some of the main FSN characters. But, they couldn't justify just putting Saber in there, so instead they made someone who looks like her so that people would look at the box, see "Saber" and think "ah, a game with Saber in, let's buy it". The bigger tits were for fanservice, and also so that they could say "well, see, she's clearly a different person, her tits are different".

Well, they don't even seem to have tried to cover it up. And, yes, that makes precisely zero sense. Gender-bending king Arthur was a pretty neat trick (and well-explained), whereas the gender-bending in Extra was just plain lazy. They couldn't be arsed to think up a real heroine, so the people who designed the characters (I don't think Nasu did that, although he wrote much of the dialogue and plot) just thought "ah, I know, we'll use Nasu's trick of gender-bending a male hero", not realising that a) the heroes they chose are actually real and are documented to be male (and couldn't have covered it up as Saber did) and b) Nasu actually had a well-worked and logical explanation for why Saber was a girl masquerading as a guy, whereas they seem to have entirely ignored the inconsistency with what we actually know about their history (and, unlike the largely mythological King Arthur, these are actual historical figures, who we know quite a lot about).
