I've always wanted to know why "Simple and Clean" and "Passion" were chosen as the themes, since I see no correlation between the lyrics and the stories...

I.e. S&C is pretty much about a guy's relationship with his girlfriend, and that is not necessarily the relationship that Sora has with Kairi, not to mention that the game is also about his rift with Riku and whatnot...

Passion is supposed to be Utada's answer to S&C, or so she is quoted saying on wiki, and I suppose I can somewhat see that, but if this song was made primarily for the game, why talk about a new year's card and the girl having a kid?

JIC, though it might sound like I'm griping about the songs, I'm just trying to figure out why these songs were chosen, and if the lyrics were even originally meant to be for the game, and if not, why not change them to better suit the game(s)?
