Download speed

My download speed is really slow, is at like 2 or 3 kbs. Im using shadow's experiment and the status light is always yellow. im using windows xp. ive tried switching the firewall off and used this method to open the ports:

"Go Start button --> Control Panel --> Network Connections --> Local Area Connection (or whatever network device you're using) --> Advanced tab --> Settings... button --> Services tab --> Add... button .

Now add an entry for each of the TCP ports from 6881 to 6889 (nine total entries)."

But still there are no remote clients...any one got solution to my problem??

thanks in advance

Poor corp20. Last we spoke, he had no control over opening the ports on his hardware either.

As for polarbear, are you using any type of hardware router, or is your PC connected directly to your modem? What brand cable/DSL modem?

Since getting a BTOpenworld DSL with a USB modem, I've found that I can get much better (x10 faster) downloads from bittorrent by turning off XP's firewall totally and replacing it with the free version of ZoneAlarm.
This -has- come up elsewhere on the forum...
