You know, it's sort of a nice gesture in concept, but, in terms of practical implications, I can't help but find it ironic on soooo many levels. Is Media Factory going to listen to the pleas of fansub fans when their stance against fansubs was already made abundantly clear (in the form of legal threats)? "We enjoyed the show that we downloaded so much, that we want you to make more so we can download more of it!" (Note: This isn't anything against fansubs at all, but try to think about it from the publisher's perspective. They're not a charity. )

If fans want to do something practical, the best thing to do would be to call, E-mail, and send lettermail (the most effective) to all the licensing companies to show your support for the show - and then, when it's licensed, buy the DVDs and encourage your friends to do so as well. If you can afford to, buy the R2 DVDs, and hope a lot of other people do so (as in, thousands of them). Sequels are determined largely by merchandise sales (they say the "magic number" is somewhere around 10,000 copies sold or more per R2 DVD). With few exceptions, all the acclaim and petitions in the world won't raise the millions needed to fund another season.

Again, from a concept perspective, it is cute though. It's nice to see the show has fans; our hope for a second season hinges on them "putting their money where their mouths are", so to speak.

Zero no Tsukaima was adapted from a series of novels, not manga. 13 is the last episode.

Cheers.

Also to add to musigal's questions, the manga is also an adaption from the novel and so far 4 to 5 chapters while AQS has only scanlated 3 chapters so far. The anime ep 13 stopped in the end of vol 3 of the novels while there are 6 novels in all.

There are 9 novel volumes out so far, not 6. It's still ongoing as well.

I just posted that two posts up...

And it's not confirmed, nothing is ever confirmed until we hear it directly from the animation company.

Heh, if this is true, then the animation studios have learned that filler episodes are not the way to go if the manga serialization is still going.

I just watched all 13 episodes of Zero, but after reading the forums and looking up some summaries for some of the novel volumes of Zero I can't help but feel that it could've been much greater. It's cool that there will be a second season, but I think I will try and pick up the novel when it gets translated or scanslate.

There's a novel and a manga. Differences? Or are they one in the same? Is the novel just text, any pictures?

Well, the novel is the original story upon which both the anime and manga are based, so if you want the most complete story, the novel's where to look. Light novel series consist of mostly text with the occasional illustration (1 illustration per 20-30 pages of text, roughly?). You can obviously learn a lot more about these novels in the ZnT Novel Thread. Hope this helps!
