Wheres the poll option for "...Andddd? The point?"

So what? You heard of strip bars right? And? The term service is completely new to you?

I'm surprise people can try and look down on that while half the world isn't much better off. In fact, I would perfer if they took down some crap here and add few of those since girls here generally look better. Less crime, less STDS, better for the neighborhood.

no vote from me.I couldn't figure out the reason why you are speech- less about this news ? that's a kind of cosplay+cafe ,so is equal to okie.

edit: That news writer usually writes financial news. She seems quite unfamiliar with cosplay and stuffs.

Strip bars are less... specialized. They are more pertinent to natural biological urges.

This is different.

Edut: And this is why I'm speechless: it's just freaking crazy ok? =P Hence being on reuter's "oddly enough." Right alongside headlines like "Judge shelves case over Jesus' existence," "Runway dogs delay landings," and "Baby feeds on dog's milk."

This is pretty normal in Akihabara, but not common anywhere else in Japan.

If it's about coffee I wouldn't care if the bearded lady served me

Where's the option: So what? I already live in Japan and I go there every week.

It's just a coffee house. So what if you are served by a maid? It's like any other place except they replaced waitress uniforms with maid outfits. It's interesting the first time, but the more you go there, you get used to it and it's just like another coffee house like Starbucks. The only exception is you get better service for a little overpriced price. But as long as I can get served well while I am drinking coffee and doing my work on my notebook PC, hell it's much better than going to a normal coffee shop.

Next plane to japan...

Well it would be interesting, but really it can't be that different from a normal cafe, can it? But must be tested, so now time to wait until I know enough japanese and got the money for a ticket to tokyo then well see.

The important thing is it creates work and that is good isn't it? Some place for those 20y old girls to work, now sweden would really need something like that, a place where all the young (women)people without work can work at and some place for us geeks to hang around at while studying to get that work that we will never get...
I want to check a maid cafe out, soon.. :P

When I first heard about these, I wasn't suprised by the idea of maid cafes. I was suprised that some guy kidnapped one of the maids and locked her up in his room or something... anyone have the link to the article?

I've known of their existence for a long time and I do think it's a bit odd, but it's one of those interesting things I would like to try.

I suppose maid cafes are mainly aimed at otaku, but do they attract tourists aswell? I mean, you can't find them anywhere outside Japan as far as I know, so I'd imagine a lot of curious foreigners would want to try them.

It's only fair. Guys have maid cafes, so girls obviously need butler cafes. It's the next logical step.
