Vice President Cheney shoots hunting partner

I'm sure you've all heard of the stories by now, VP Cheney shoots hunting partner. -Shot an 78 year old man, but not just any man, -an 78 year old Republican Texas lawyer. It's like, you want to say, haha,.. but he shot an Texas lawyer? Now I'm rather confused if I should just leave it at an haha, or to give Cheney an pat on the back.

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive...61cheney1.html

Clear day, minimal brush,.. but an accident. ... An accident, or so they say. "He, he, came up from behind me! I didn't see him." ...as they try to spin it.

And the shot lawyer guy? He had an bright orange vest and hat on. And Cheney couldn't see that? "Ready, Fire, Aim!" Bah...

However, I have recently came across some new data regarding the incident, which appears to shed greater light on the story. An "still" of at the time of the shooting to be presented:

Spoiler for still via A-Destiny:

Fortunately, Whittington is fairing better than the last person to enter the gunsights of a sitting vice president.

However, now that Cheney has had a taste of what it's like to hunt the ultimate game, how can he go back to quail? With all the alledged terrorists we're holding in secret, who'd know if a few of them go missing?

Isn't there a song about this?

Cheney's Got A Gun
Cheney's Got A Gun
His dog day's just begun
Now everybody is on the run
What did this daddy do?
It's Cheney's last I.O.U.

He had to take him down easy
And put a bullet in his brain
He said 'cause nobody believes me
The man was such a sleeze
He ain't never gonna be the same

Run away, run away from the pain
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Run away, run away from the pain
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Run away, run away, run, run away

Cheney's Got A Gun
Cheney's Got A Gun
Cheney's Got A Gun
Everybody is on the run

Cheney's Got A Gun
This dog day's just begun
Now everybody's on the run (Honey, honey what's your problem)
'Cause Cheney's Got A Gun (Tell me it ain't right)
Cheney's Got A Gun (Was it daddys cradle robbin')
This dog day's just begun (That made you scream at night)
Cheney's Got A Gun
This dog day's just begun
Now everybody's on the run
Cheney's Got A Gun

This happens quite a bit in bird hunting, around here there is a lot of pheasants so that is what gets hunted. When you have your eye on the bird it's hard to see someone standing where they shouldn't. One day a guy came into a hunting store that I was working in and told us about his "friend" shooting him twice in the back while tracking a pheasant. The friend told him, "I knew I hit you but I just couldn't stop shooting." Which is rather the problem, because it' pretty much reflex action when you see the bird to track and shoot. Whittington must have came up fairly close, as a 28 ga doesn't really pack much of a punch, comparatively to a 20 or 12 ga. which are used for pheasant.

Awesome. And here the only thing I could think of was....

"Shot through the heart, and you're to blame, you give Cheney a bad name."

/I'm so sorry.
