After episode 8, a question arose: will Saya become a hunter or turn into a phantom? Tragic death also possible.

I would wish if they move on with the Phantom and the box pieces, and Ranmaru delving on the powers of his inner demon.

It's stretched and dragging waiting whether TOKKO makes its mind to dispose of Ranmaru or recruiting him as a Hunter.

There are two interesting traits shown in this series, although meaningless for plot values.
1. All the characters, or at least the Hunters, have or had a sibling whereas be a younger sister or brother.

2. Except for Sakura and Saya, several characters dyed their hair blonde or variations of it.

Spoiler:

Inspector Ibuki engages on a conversation with her superior.
Spoiler:

The fight with the twelfth is drastically original than was in the first TOKKO manga.
Spoiler:

Is evident that Sakura has sort of an affection for Ranmaru, as she slapped Kureha for a comment that the latter made that pissed her off.

Last, the mysterious phone call.

Well, there's another romance brewing with Rokujou and Shindou, although it seemingly is one-sided (for now). I like this series, despite it having not really good animation.

I think the key word here is 'low budget' and not necessarily bad animation. Xenosaga had a huge budget and look at that animation :/ Seriously, there's only so much you can do when you have no money to spend on animators.

I too wish they would hurry up and get him involved or not in Tokko. It seems like they are dragging it out so the decision will be made at the end of the series (setting the stage for the next season)?

What are you talking about? It's quite obvious from the preview of ep. 9 that

Just wanted to say that I completely agree with you. Both siblings have a very interesting personnality and the way they deal with their "preys" shows their determination and add to the gloom atmosphere of the manga/anime. Tis a pity their story is on hiatus (permanent?) .

Episode 9 Review

TOKKO is getting more interesting with each episode a revelation disclosed.

It seems there's a heated friction between Ryoko and the high echelions of Tokki regarding Ranmaru. The old geezers are pretty much opposed to Ryoko's initiatives, though her reasoning makes sense since there are at war with the Phantoms.
Spoiler:

This episode dealt about Ryoko's past. Unlike the hunters, she's an ordinary human but her cunning, expertise, self-reliance made her a high position in Tokki's ranks to pull out resources, media cover-up, and influences to sponsor Unit 02, Tokko.
Spoiler:

Ranmaru exhibits unnatural abilities that the rest of the Hunters seem not to fully exude.
Spoiler:

I lmao with another of Kureha's moments to Ranmaru. TOKKO's hideout doesn't seem to be of any special location or with added services; has what it takes for members.

And there's a clean, gratuitious fanservice shot of Ryoko showering.

Episode 10 Review

Just a little startled that nobody commented on last week's episode.

Spoiler:

Ranmaru's Phantom finally appeared, though it didn't do anything except for watching.

I've watched ep 10 myself. It's quite interesting how the anime is straying away from the manga.

3 episodes left. I'd like to see what they do with this story.

Actually it becomes more and more interesting, now that we are not spoiled by manga anymore.

But it doesn't look like humanity is going to be saved in 3 ep. Do you think that there will be a second season?

If they destroyed Tokyo in 3 ep. , wouldn't it still be rushig it a bit plotwise? They would really have to take a beating in the next 3 ep.

Damn! I purposely try to stay away from this thread in fear of spoilers but now I find out its only thirteen eps. That sucks. I was expecting a nice long detailed series. There is no way they can wrap this up in three more eps. Either it's gonna start sucking bad, or there will be a second series. Here's hoping for the latter...

Episode 11 Review

Progress was consistent throughout this episode, and the pace fared well though can't imagine how the staff will manage to close the story at only thirteen episodes.

There are only two episodes left, and still the plot leaves the scattered plotholes untreated.

Just one episode left...
What's with the sudden change of approach to nudity? Why did they start doing "hair cover"&"doll body"?

To make a long story short, bald-man Taoshi has been focusing its interests on waking up Ranmaru's true form.
