The Beatles

I attempted to stay away from them for 20+ years, but sadly I cannot continue. Simply because I listened to one of their songs on the Radio, and thought man this is good, who wrote/sung this?

Then the words "The Beatles". So now oddly I'm hooked. So you anime fans that listen to too much music with lyrics you don't understand, enlighten me why are the fab four so fabulous?

Song names? What I should download? Buy?

sorry, but that line reminded me of this video. This video is of a person who not only listens too much, but sings as well :X

As for the beatles: (these are the first 5 from a list of 40 CNN has up)

I Saw Her Standing There
Twist And Shout
She Loves You
All My Loving
I Want to Hold Your Hand (I personally only have heard this one and liked it very much)

Hope that helps to some extent

For more information about the Beatles, you can go here:

Beatles History

One of their albums, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, was named one of the albums that shaped Rock and Roll by Rolling Stone Magazine.

Although I like the Beatles, I'm more of a fan of the Bee Gees.

The Beatles are my favorite band of all time. To help get introduced to them, I recommend listening to the albums Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and the White Album.

Earlier Beatles is the best. The jangly 60s guitar pop beatles, not the weirdo drugexperimento beatles. Although the latter certainly isn't bad, the former is much better. Yay for simple, shiny pop songs. A lost art these days.

The beatles were really a cultural phenomenom, I ended up hearing their songs constantly in my childhood through my parents, who love their music and are fans since I have memory. Although I would say its not my kind of music, I cant help to be a little moved when I hear them, they really shaped the rock genre (and honestly most music) into what it is today.

Yeah, the Beatles were a great band when they weren't shitting out bubblegum pop. Songs like "Yesterday," "Helter Skelter," and "I am the Walrus" are among the classics that highlighted the creativity and innovation of the band.
