Whenever I get deja-vu I have a dream the following night where I can fly...I've actually gotten quite good at it, although I'm not very fast; barely faster than floating. Thankfully, I've not had deja-vu for a couple of years, (and therefore not had the flying dreams) because I wake exhausted from the effort it takes to fly!

Insanity probably beckons!

I don't remember any in my younger days, and I don't quite believe in it but I guess I still change directions when I see black cat crossing my path =)

I thought xxxHolic's treatment of the topic was quite refreshingly ironic, delightfully turning the common explanation back on its head.

But, well, I bought that common explanation. Some habits I have probably have roots in superstitions, though. I didn't know the chopstick thing was a superstition until I read this thread -- I always thought it was polite manners or something so I generally put them like that.

I believe I can fly. I believe I can touch the sky...

I don't believe in superstition. (Or God, or fate, or luck, or anything like that.)

Though my Mom's full of (stupid) superstitions.

The two she most uses are:

* Don't point at a rainbow 'cause it'll disappear and rain.
* Never put red and white flowers in the same room or the head of the family will pass away.

There are prolly more, but most of the time I zone out when she talks ...

I'm not really superstitious in the sense of good luck/bad luck eventualities. It's more of a I-think-ghosts-really-exist kind of superstition. Like if I'm doing something, anything good or bad, I sometimes feel a chill wind and think to myself, I feel as though my ancestors are watching me. Father... Grandfather... would they approve of what I am doing now?

Of course, if I'm doing something bad (such as ignoring a friend in need), I end up feeling guilty and do something about it. Or I feel relieved and relaxed if I was doing something good at the time, as if I was honoring my ancestors with my actions. I like to think this superstition of mine is motivating me to improve myself and do good deeds.

Black cats are cute . Each time that I see one, I tend to change direction but if the cat comes towards me, I stop by and pat him

I guess it's alright to pat him/her first, feed it if I have something by any chance, and then change directions

True. But I just forget the superstition when it happens. Some cats are so cute

And once I pat one, he/she tends to follow me. That can be a problem

lol black cats, I actually have an urge to cross their paths everytime I meet one, I'm not sure why myself. Maybe because I'd like to see whether I'd actually get badluck or that I don't believe in the superstition.

There are some weird habits I do follow, but they aren't really superstitious habits.

Ah yes, I do lightly spit into my hat or on my hand and rub it through my hair if a black cat crosses my path as well. Since I own a black cat, I only do this if I'm walking or driving somewhere, of course.

On the day you buy your lotto ticket/have the ticket drawn, don't:

- Waste Money.
- Sit on a cinema seat numbered 4 (Chinese Number of Death)

... and you'll be right as rain.

If you don't play, you're sure to not win :O

I don't say I am a fan of Lotto, but at least the ones who buy tickets have a chance to win, me I have not XD

*if someone walks(steps) over your body then you will stay at that hight unless they walk over from the opposite direction.

i don't belive in this one but, i still make people do it if the conditions are met.

stupid, but some things just stick.
