I have the first four books of the wheel of time series but i've yet to read any of them. The biggest reason is that i've yet to hear even one person say that the 3 or so books didn't suck compared to the first 4 or so. I don't think I can bring myself to start a series that I know is going to become disappointing after i've invested so much time into it. What about you? Did you like the last few?

And your top link didn't work for me.

The first book is good by itself. I didn't see any reason to read the ones after that.

It ties up all the major loose ends? I hate stoping a story when major plotlines are unfinished. But I do admit it's tempting since I love fantasy books and it's been a while since I've had a new one to read.

Well, it ends at a point where it could continue, and presumably it has continued for another eight books, but I don't want to read all that war crud anyway, the adventure part was good enough for me.

i enjoyed the series up the 5th or 6th book. After that, i can't seem to feel for anything. he continually pulls new characters in without killing the old ones, or he kills them and resurrects them so you're REALLY confused as to who's who in the most recent books. I used to consider him a great fantasy writer and his early books were top notch but he sold out REALLY badly. The series was only suppose to be 4 books but he's stretched it out to 9-10 so far. And I have no idea how much further he's going. I have yet to finish his last book and I've had it for a close to a year now...

Wheel of Time is a nice series gone sour due to its length. I liked the first 7 or 8 books, but now it's getting so lengthy I wish it would end soon. I am now reading book 10 during my vacation. It's been so long since the last 9 books that I cannot really remember what happened. I hope I do not have to re-read the last few books to refresh my memory...

Blah... I don't really like Robert Jordan stuff, but I dig Dragonlance and Tasslehoff.

The worst thing about the wheel books is that after you read bout.. book 4 i think nothing happy happens. It's all depressing. If you want a great fantasy series to read with adventure and cool characters try The Sword of Truth by goodkind.
