I thought there was something amiss. I seriously need to get some sleep.

Thanks for the correction.

I was really surpised to see Ibis and the other chick from OG2 and the Alpha games in ep. 3, I mistook Ibis for Ryoto in last weeks preview, I didn't even notice it until the blue haired chick was shown XD

Animation seemed a little better this episode but still not anything wonderful.

I just watch the first episode of SRW OG : Divine Wars..
Just one word..
AWESOME !!!!

The 3D Animation is very good. But somehow the drawing in SRW OG GBA is different from the anime.

Because the units in the games, with exception of Scramble Commander, are all done in SD form.

Just watched the 2nd Episodes, definitely enjoying this. it reminds me of Initial D, as the animation is bad (well ok, not as fugly as intial D ) and the robots are fantastic 3D. Mind you I watched the OVA's first, so it took me 10mins after the first episodes to realise why i felt De~Ja~Vu after the opening and the characters in it. all in all, i cat wait for more of SRW goodness. Since we can't play the damn game (FOR F*** sakes bring us a translation already!) I might as well watch it.

I just played the game version of this SRW OG.
Just one word : Awesome.

Normally SRW is nearly impossible to be translated outside Japan because the license issue. (Think of it, how many licensed they need to get) So they made the OG series. N SRW OG is the first translated SRW series.

I hope that SRW Alpha can be translated too...

I just found out that http://www.seedgenesis.net hosts direct downloads to episodes of SRWOG: Divine Wars today! OMG! Its so awesome! The webmaster is of a Gundam site though.

Quote:
While your waiting for Stargazer Stage III, Super Robot Wars Original Generation: Divine Wars 3 has been subbed and released as of today and is available for direct download on Seed Genesis servers.Hopefully this will be able to get you thorugh the week and perhaps by then, Stargazer III's subbed version will be released on the weekend. (Note: This is an entirely different anime that is unrelated or affiliated to Gundam. Its sole purpose is to give you something else to watch and enjoy while you are waiting for the subbed version of Stargazer III.)
I think its a great way to burn time whether or not we are Gundam fans or not. He sure has good taste! This is so sweet!

If you watch episode 3 carefully around 3:44 both Ingram's and Aya's heads bug out as Rai enters the office. Strange and obvious flub in the animation I haven't seen since a Dunbine episode that aired in the early 80's where Sho's head does something similar.

Well, after watching the OP on an AnimeBlog, I was sufficiently curious enough to check out this series. It's fun to enjoy the occasional mecha-action show now and then. I just hope the story turns out to be better than GSD, or at least remain competent enough without making me tear my hair out.

Random thoughts on Ep01-03,
Take heed that I know nothing of the games.

..) I dislike the main male protagonist thus far. Oh... don't worry. I usually dislike the main male protagonist in these type of shows. From Kodai( Space Battleship Yamato) to Shinji( Neon Genesis Evangelion), it is almost a given that I will end depising the main male protagonist in manly rite-of-passage animes.

It is always some other side character that I end up liking very much. For Space Battleship Yamato, that character would be Sanada. Now that, my friend, is a hardcore manly man. A man who has bombs implanted in his limbs.

..) Your friend is trapped under rubble and you have just discovered a humanoid mecha. Do you-

a) Use the damn mecha to remove the rubble trapping her?
b) Leave her to get help without removing the rubble first?

..) I so badly wanted Rai to call Ryusei a 'NEWB'.

..) If prior anime viewing experience is any indication, I will be filled with burning passion from watching the old captain of that battleship in the OP. There is something special about grizzly veterans who have lived through more years of war than the age of the young protagonist.

"I've been waging war before your daddy even touched your mommy."
"You can have your robot. I got my BATTLESHIP."

..) My favourite type of mecha are the overgunned types, like Raiden from Virtual On, or Heavy Arms from GW:Endless Waltz. So I will be keeping a close eye on the red mecha from the OP.

Cheers.

Alteisen is top heavy, has severe balance issues, and a very odd choice of weaponary.

Yet, despite all that, Kyousuke manages to kick ass with this old iron.

Alteisen is a piece of junk with an attitude. That, is its appeal.

Nope, and probably not so soon. Masaki himself has yet to make an appearance.

As badass as Kyosuke and ATX Team are, OG 1 isn't really their story. We wouldn't be missing a lot of character development by ignorance of ATX Team, but we would miss a lot of SRX's because they are a bunch of emo-kidz.

eh...sorry. I blame the blasphemy robotech reference....dammn heretics....

but for episode 03....dammn that felt short....

How come all those older anime mecha series (Macross/Dubine) have episodes that seemed to last longer? meh...
