Of course, the "Motsu" bit has been around since Pani Poni Dash (with the frog being expanded to an actual character in Negima!?). So, I consider Motsu's cameo to be more of a "Shinbo trademark".

That was a fun series. Episode 12 didn't make it too high either, production value-wise, but it was nice anyway. I've ordered vol 1-2 of the manga, hopefully they'll arrive soon.

Spoiler for episode 12 content:

A pleasant ending to the series I liked the best this season. You can indeed tell they were a bit short on time yet again, but very serious work obviously went into the widescreen broadcast of episode 10 this week (now this is animation), so I guess we can be confident the DVD version will look a lot better.

Just finish watching ep12., this series is definitely one of the hidden gem of the season. It earns a special place in my heart, likewise as Azumanga, Aria, YKK and Kamichu.

yay for subbed episode 5. The subs always turn out some hidden gems in this series that I miss in the raw (and the Poni Poni Dash reference was pretty obcsure in any case).

I just saw that episode and the note, and it's NOT a PPD reference. That is an old saying (kotowaza) in Japanese. "A fool doesn't/can't catch a cold." Just because Becky repeats it in PPD, doesn't make it a reference to that show. That's like saying it's a reference to Star Trek, because they used the saying "a rolling stone gathers no moss" in one of the shows. (Er, for example...) It's just a saying.

I actually loved episode 5 because I can actually relate what Yuno went through when she was sick. Of course it's mostly the getting really trippy dreams during sickness scenes which I was able to relate to. I bet it has happened to you before, right?

Haha I agree with the TL notes likening this episode to a acid trip, but as always add some adorable girls to the mix and it becomes a great deal more enjoyable.

Speaking of TL notes, much thanks to shintani for the great sub job on the series so far.

Wow, episode 05 was Shinbo all over --- he ran wild with this one. Easily the best episode so far, and wins and being one hell of a relaxing episode.

I have to agree with the subber... at times I thought I was watching a flashback to animated acid trip ala Grateful Dead....
