After seeing this movement, i wonder why no action have been taken to pressure nintendo to make their next home console, Wii U, region free.

Because... of the current results of this movement? Obviously Nintendo does whatever they want, and screw the fans. They'll stay afloat off of Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, and shovelware.

Namco can go fuck themselves, I gave up on that company. Will never buy another product from them again.

Considering I loved ToS2, yeah, sure. I want a new Tales on the Wii. Rather, the more Tales that is like ToS2, the better. I mean, no DLC, no half-year beta version crap. Sounds like a dream, huh? After Vesperia and Graces. Of course, I loved the content too though.
After a different company takes over for making Tales games, that is. Can't trust that company these days.

It is interesting. I guess perhaps the idea of "Region-locked systems" is actually accepted, even if people prefer to have them non-region-locked. Therefore, while people were dissatisfied, it didn't reach the level where people would bother to actually stand up and do something about it.
On the other hand, enough frustration and anger piled up over not getting a few (very well-reviewed) RPGs that people thought it was worth protesting about.

...Maybe?

This fishing game will require you to buy the rod and lure through DLC, of course!

Namco has posted a lot of new videos of Go Vacation.

So many sports crammed into one game.

Don't get me wrong, Dawn of the New World wasn't a bad game. It's a good way to finally get some use out of the Wii, but when compared to all the other Tales games, it was quite miserable, in my opinion.

Cameos seemed quite pointless, and since the battle physics felt more like Vesperia's, it felt odd for the Symphonia characters to be in the game at all. Overdrives were a nice addition but with a tiny bit of grinding added to these overdrives, I could demolish any boss very easily. Voice acting felt very shallow; maybe that's not the fault of the voice actors, but the characters themselves. And bloody hell, don't even get me started on the monster taming and element wheel. The element wheel I never even paid attention to and still beat the game easily (on the regular difficulty, mind you), and the monsters were so pointless since the regular characters had much more diverse attacks/spells.

My statement from before basically meant that should they make another Tales game on the Wii (localized), it better fix the major issues that were in Dawn of the New World.

You probably forgot about Tales of the Tempest, which got demoted from mothership title to an escort title.
TotT is the only title that deserves a remake

Tempest didn't bother me nearly as much as Dawn of the New World did- perhaps it was because I loved the classic Symphonia and waited 2+ years for the sequel only to be disappointed.

Tempest does deserve a remake.

I have a feeling that any more discussion on Tales should actually move to the Tales sub-forum...

You're right, sorry 'bout that. Back to the Wii- just sold mine to a friend today after realizing just how little I play mine. If the line up for Wii U is noteworthy, I'll be sure to get that to replace it and whatnot. I'm just excited for Mario Party 9!

Mario Party 8 was a big disappointment, so I really hope they improve on 9...

I really only play 360 or all of my retro consoles. Virtual Console never felt right for me- I would just find the actual cartridge/CD/tape/floppy disk/card to play it on.

Makes me wonder where you got them from, you're so young XD.

It's actually a rather pleasant surprise to see a youngin have interest in retro games in the first place

Not going to get too off topic, but I might as well fill in all the blanks. At different points in my life I actually owned these consoles:

- NES
- SNES
- Turbografx-16
- Intellivision
- Colecovision
- Vectrix
- Commodore 64
- ZX Spectrum
- Nintendo 64
- Playstation
- Playstation 2
- Gamecube
- Genesis (CD/32X)
- Dreamcast
- Sega Master System
- Sega Saturn
- Atari 2600
- Gamecube
- Wii
- XBOX 360

And that is excluding the handhelds I've owned:

- Game Boy
- Game Boy Color
- Sega Nomad
- Sega Game Gear
- Game Boy Advance
- Nintendo DS
- Nintendo DS Lite
- Nintendo 3DS
- Playstation Portable
- Atari Lynx

Going to flea markets nowadays, it's amazing to see how little people value older consoles- ridiculously cheap prices is why I could afford to own all of these at some point. Right now, I only have an NES, SNES and Genesis sitting in my house along with my XBOX 360, 3DS and PSP. My friend offered to help me with college financial costs by purchasing my consoles as a set with the promise that I'd buy them back once my fees were all paid.

I'm basically a "retro" person in general, I'd say. Music, cars, games, you name it.

Back on topic, my roommate and I played Tales of Symphonia on his Wii today. Gamecube days were amazing.

Something I think needs to happen with the Wii U is regulation of third-party material. The Wii's library lost so much appeal when budget games were being pumped out for the console like clockwork. If you check the bargain bins at WalMart or any gaming store, you'll find a load of ridiculous games that aren't even worth looking at.

Other consoles suffer this same fate and it is impossible to eliminate budget titles entirely, but once again, regulation may be what saves the next Nintendo console.

Hmm mmh, it is a tricky thing. IIRC some of the blockbuster titles like Assassin's Creed were only possible because other ubisoft shovelware titles were doing great in the past, ps2, wii and DS games mostly. At the moment shovelwares are funding blockbuster games for most third party devs/publishers. But in this gen it was not balanced, wii shovelware were actually funding PS360/PC titles, don't now if you can be angry about it, but that is just the way it was/is.

I, for one, really like Virtual Console. Final Fantasy III US (FF VI) hit NA VC recently, btw, for anyone who cares.
