Great episode i was disappointed about one thing that we didnt get to see more of the battle with Benewei. I was not too worried about it too much since the positon the army was in was perfect everyone knows that if you have the highground your golden. the enemy had to cross the stream which would slow down plus inorder to attack they had to get past the pikemen then go up a steep hill with Archers and the foot soldiers looking down on them. In reality by time they reached the main defensive line they would be tired. In a defensive positon and being a little stubborn you could hold a large army for hours since they could not make full use of their numbers given the ridge where Benewei and theTousukuru armu were. Plus mad props to Aruruu for going into battle man would i love to have her as sister something about a cute little girl on the back on a big ass white tiger.

Karura was outstanding in battle as usual (hence my new avatar thanks Evil_Samurai it rules ). You would think that with that sword she would not be as agile as she is but she proved us wrong. The tatic she used to defeat the butt buddy trio ( i call them this since they can only fight together) was brlliant. Focus on one so what if there are three if you dont mind taking some damage once you get rid of one there fighting strategy goes doen the drain (bravo bravo) plus watching someone get split in half is always fun. Does anyone know if Karura always had that string attached to her sword?

The battle between Hakuoro and Yue was very beastly in more ways than one Yue got what he deserved i mean that bitch burned down his own city. We all know that Hakuoro is something we just dont know what.

My Thoery
I beleive that Hakuoro is Human but his possessed by something evil or maybe not evil just something that live and thrives off war and destruction. The more he mights the stronger this something inside of him gets. i dont know if its a curse or maybe he took what ever it is inside of him self to keep it from the world thinking that he could contain it. Then someone learning of this tried to kill Hakuoro therfore killing the beast within (I bring this up since we still dont know how he got injured). The key to keeping Hakuoro in check is Eruruu and Aruruu the joy of family and love hold the beast at bay i am convienced that Eruruu does love him and vice versa. Aruruu is the link with family and Eruruu is the link with love. Also, the rest of the cast plays a role as werll Oboro as a brother, Benewei as a mentor/confidant, Karura as a shield/spear and Touka as his sense justice. As long as these people beleive in him i feel he can come back from where ever the darkness may lead him. Im predicting seeing Hakuoro and Eruruu spending more time together.

If anyone else has any thories let me know always nice to see others opinions

Mixed feelings about this ep.

The bad: I'm really not overly happy about the direction the plot is taking, surrounding Hakuoro's inner beast and the obvious personal conflict that is going to take place in the next few episodes to the background of war, because I've seen it so many times before and in (arguably) better incarnations. It's just a trite plot-point, imo, and what makes it worse is that the war "background" takes center stage far more often than Hakuoro's personal conflict, which I think is probably the more interesting conflict. I realize there can't be one without the other, but I still strongly argue that the action is taking center stage far more often than it should. It's good action, but, c'mon, given that they were fighting a horribly stereotypical antagonist in "KA-KA-KA", it wasn't exactly what I'd call dramatic. I'm also still going to complain that too many of the side-protagonists have been relegated to mere fighter status too quickly as well: particularly Benawi and Touka, who seem to have hinted that there's far more to them than has been revealed.

The good: That moment after victory where the rain was falling was probably the most perfectly orchestrated scene with respect to establishing atmosphere in this series so far. It just so perfectly portrayed the bitter-sweetness of victory after so much violent bloodshed from both sides, ie you may have lost your comrades and so many have died, but you've won the battle. I thought it was a great scene, and, fingers crossed there'll be more like it in future eps.

Next ep looks very intriguing, and it looks like we'll get more insight into Hakuoro... which I'm looking forward to. Now to go watch.

Granted they used it to very good effect, but I actually tot that was overused. You know, the whole rain after fire/war thing is so... done. The bgm added much to atmosphere in that scene; especially where Eruruu was clutching Hakuoro's fan.

I just loved this episode. Karura was just fantastic!!

Hakuoro and Touka too put a great fight. Even Aruruu and Mukuru fought. But Eruruu was kinda out of place there aside Hakuoro. I understand her feelings, but why she didn't stayed in home?!

Anyway, i just loved this episode. 09/10!
