Watched the second episode.

Until Koyuki showed up I had this fantastic theory that Yuuma had unconsciously created a force field around the entire hanami spot, preventing people he didn't know from entering.

I then went on to concoct a theory about how brutal, brutal childhood angst had repressed his magical abilities, but they're leaking out now.

Wrong, I guess.

I do have some questions:

1) If Haruhi's memories can be trusted, both males and females can use magic. Why aren't there any male magicians anywhere in the anime?

2) Why isn't there racism (or racism analogue) between the magic-users and the normal humans?

3) I still think there's gotta be angst in Yuuma's past.

episode 2 raw

I keep standing back and thinking this is a bad, cliched, show, but then I realize that I'm having a good time and loving the characters, especially Haruhi. And it's moe-melt time when Koyuki speaks: her seiyuu is Hinata Yura, who did Kareha in Shuffle.

And I couldn't help loving it that Haruhi...

Spoiler for goodies in episode 2:

Is it just me or has the animation quality for episode 2 dropped a lot compared to the 1st episode??

You know, I have to admit, for a show that isn't actually drawn/animated in HD, that's a pretty high quality HD upscale. It very nearly borders DVD quality, which is a pretty rare thing from upscaled TV raws. But I also agree - I really do like the art and animation in this show (typical mismatching CG movement notwithstanding).

(Edit: I said that, but the "HD" raws for episode 2 appear to have reverted to typical sub-par levels of "awful upscale". It even has dot crawl... :/ )

I can't say that I noticed a particular drop in quality (like, I didn't notice any really attrocious keyframes or bad tweening or anything... then again, I'd only notice if it really stood out badly), though the content of the episode did involve less effects and movement overall.

The (MFI) tag lets you know you're not even supposed to *ASK* that question (read the notes on Media Factory C&D or the very first post).

1. Because male magicians aren't interesting.

2. This isn't ZnT, the focus of the story is completely different. Don't worry about the small details~

3. Bingo!

Jun continues to be awesome.

Strangely, it's more like Jun is awesome as the sort of person I'd like to be friends with, rather than as a standard bishoujo (such as it is). It's probably an entirely erroneous and inaccurate feeling, but I feel that Jun is by far the most interesting character in the show.

ep 2 is a bit uneventful, but we get to know more about the characters. It's a bit cliche in parts, but it's still fun to watch. I like Haruhi more and more.

I do but I'll need some guidance from the moderators before I post the URL. Like many doujin artist sites, it has a ton of adult illustrations. Most of the "Happiness!" stuff is relatively tame, but he's not shy about depicting his own character in "adult situations."

What a cliche anime, hmm.

I just saw the first subbed episode and it was all right. It had a lot of cute girls and funny moments but the story doesn't seem that interesting.
