Kinda nasty the fact that....

Spoiler for ep 03:

But what I can't understand is the relationship between Jo and Jin. Are simply they good friends and trust eachother or prehaps just a common goal or what? Any idea?
And somehow I feel that Sana and Jin are the main characters, and Jo a huuge bi-role. However, judging from the intro it doesen't look like it.

Spoiler:

I can't wait for the next episode. I'm really hooked now!

I'm definitely going to continue watching the next few episodes to see if this continues to be good and entertaining. Hopefully it'll keep up and not go downhill like so many have.

Judging by the escorts, and the fact that Sana was placed in a passenger flight remaining like any ordinary person....

I think that Sana's a human being with maybe or not a hidden 'treasure' that stills lies dormant.

If the government officials had deemed her not human, she wouldn't had been placed at that type of plane nor having a group of black-suit men as escorts with minimum firepower to handle against rising complications.

Rather she would have been strapped in a metal cage or machine and being transported in a military convoy or plane fighter, surrounded and escorted by at least three dozens of military personnel geared in 'Light Warrior' armors and piloting 'Gladiators' to contain her.

As I previously posted, Sana may or not fulfill a similar role to Alvis Hamilton from LE or perhaps she's from a breed of humans like Chidori Kaname is to the 'Whispered' from FMP, meaning that her genes contain blueprint knowledge about a lost technology that was imprinted on her before she was ever conceived.

Well, according to the radio drama they were partners in Phantom - in fact, Jin insisted on being paired up with Jou (damn, that didn't sound right :D) despite Jou's record of dead ex-partners. Jou and Jin had a competition in which Jou won by a small margin. After acknowledging his defeat Jin tried to make friends with Jou but he didn't succeed - in the end he asked the commander to make him Jou's partner, and being close in abilities and having a nice amount of charisma, he apparently managed to win him over after that (the official site even mentions that Jin is the only one Jou has ever opened up). Jin seems to influence Jou to quite a great extent... well, either this, or Jou just sticks with Jin because they're friends and doesn't really care about what's going on.

Actually, Jou is supposed to be the main character... though everyone seems to regard this as a joke, including the seiyuu. xD

As for Sana, they did say she was one of the Seven Children, so apparently there are more of her kind. I think they're probably genetically modified to some extent (like Phantom soldiers).

For the time being, I'll continue to view Sana as an ordinary regular human. (one of the Seven Children? I haven't followed the radio drama) However, minus that insight, a few things did arise in episode 3 that make me begin to lean more toward the 'hidden treasure' hypothesis posed by Guido. The codename Venus, for one, is making Sana sound more like something out of a very important covert project. And the idea that Phantoms are on a different "level" than your average human being is making me believe otherwise about Sana as well.

As for Jin and Jo, I honestly believe that they just want Sana out of this whole ordeal. (Some ulterior motives? I cannot tell yet.) But keeping Sana away from the Phantoms' grasp and away from the government(?)'s grasp. Stockholm Syndrome? The shocking greeting scene did not reveal much about this, but it actually seems like Jin and Sana have met before though. Otherwise, I'd really believe she would be even a little bit more reluctant to follow Jin around 24/7.

And the pirates? Are they really just after those Armors or do they want a piece of the Venus project as well?

Anyways, too many unanswered questions as of right now. Better to just sit back and watch this exciting story unravel.

Why haven't we got any flashback regarding Jou and Jin's past? Or we might get some flashbacks in later episodes?

And Jou the main character? Errr, that's wierd. But I don't mind though, since I like Jou best. Hopefully he will be more centered.

Well, Jin definitely seems to be more than he appears. Radio drama (in which he proved to be a manipulative and rather creepy individual) aside, the mask in the opening and the fact that he was in Phantom (just look at the four Phantom soldiers...) make him very suspicious. I think he definitely has some plans with Sana himself... He doesn't seem like the type of man who'd go out of his way to help someone (at least he left Gora behind without a word and previously killed his own comrade to get Sana). And anyway, white-haired pretty boys are always suspicious.

I think we'll get more information as the story goes... They need to explain Jou's tears and if Jin does have any hidden ulterior motives then they must be connected to his past.

As for Jin and Sana, well, Jin does seem to have a kind of charisma, and it seems to me that he used that to get Sana calm down. But I guess the reason Sana is so attached to Jin is because of the way Jin treats her. As the captain said, he's like a gentle, protective brother and I don't think Sana ever had such a person in her life efore.

anyone expect some romance between Sana and Jo or that blonde haired woman (the one we see at the beginning of ep3) with one of the main characters?

I don't really see romance as a likely topic that'll be featured in this series. Sana's way too young, and I personally think the Phantom pack leader and perhaps even the rest of the Phantoms for that matter are a bit too cold (inhuman?) to be involved in any relationships.

Okay, I clearly have to rewatch the first episode again if I missed a detail as important as that. I don't see any hidden agenda coming from Jin yet, but for now I'll take your word on it that he does. I really hope it's nothing too disturbing Jin has planned then, because how many more allies would Sana have to rely on?

This show definitely doesn't look like there will be any romance, there's no need for it as well.

Ah, sorry, my mistake - it hasn't been said in the anime (damn, I'm growing senile). It's written on the official site in Sana's character info.

As for Jin and his hidden agendas, I'm just speculating. ^^;; But he definitely seems suspicious to me -
Spoiler:
Then there's the mask in the opening, and the fact that he is a silver-haired pretty boy and thus suspicious by default. ;

As for romance, well... Leni and the Phantom commander apparently have an affair going on, and after episode 4 I feel some vibes between Leni and Toraji (the pirate captain). And I wouldn't be surprised if Sana had a small crush on Jin...

Apropos episode four, I found the little exchange between Jou and Gora funny.
Spoiler:

He doesn't seem to be fazed about the issue. ;;

You were able to surmise all that from the first three episodes?! Impressive hypothesis nonetheless. I probably wouldn't be surprised if a story like this really is in store for us. I'd definitely like to see what Jin has planned for Sana if he does have some scheme like this set from the start. I hope his intentions are, at the very least, honorable.

Naaah, of course not. The part about his father and his enlistment in Phantom is written in his character info on the official page. The modification is just something I find highly possible, seeing that in ep 3 it was revealed that Phantom soldiers are not normal people (in fact, they're considered monsters), and the rest, well, it was how I imagined things happened judging from Sana's flashback in ep 3.

LOL, i kinda got irked with Gora a lot in the first two episodes but that was really funny how Jou treated him in episode three.

anyway, ah, late first impression....

LOL, funny thing about this series is that it has a lot of things that look familiar. some of the characters look like they're straight off FMA (Crimson Alchemist is back! and so is Scar and Roah's lovechild! XD and OOOH, the guy is voiced by Roy Mustang!), the uniforms are almost blatantly duplicated, and.... that's it for FMA... ah wait! this also has its share of an FMA motley crew just like Greed's gang. the look and feel of this series is a mix of Armored Core, or Full Metal Panic but definitely Ghost in the Shell . yup, it's got mechs. it's futuristic with action sequences like The Matrix. the physics are believable, so i give the show credit for that. which just means it's really well animated. to entice the girls, it boasts two bishies for leading characters, lol, (with a slightly annoying pink girl in between) as it's action and mechs for the boys.

and it's also got some big-named seiyuu!

Takahiro Sakurai and Kenji Nojima are the two aforementioned bishounen
(this anime is a bit like Nojima's Guyver too... or that anime that fuses its host with its mech)
Hideo Ishikawa is a Capt. Harlock-ish kimono-wearing pirate
Jun Fukuyama is an uncharacteristic agressive killer
Tohru Ohkawa i've mentioned before (as the lovechild between FMA's Roah and Scar)
Megumi Toyoguchi who's Winry in FMA is his bitch with a deadly aim (much like his partner in FMA, right? XD)
i find it interesting to note that Shintarou Ouhata (the seiyuu who i thought sounded much like a grown up Naruto) is in this too, his last big stint was Beck: Mongolian Choq Squad
and the one that cracks me up the most is Romi Paku, because her role is a big beefy dark Amazonian musclewoman (though i find it interesting that her character is a Korean native who is fluent in Japanese, since Paku or Park-san is half-Korean )

so far, even with all the ripoffy circumstances, i'm still keen on watching the next episode! (plus it seems like it will only be 12 episodes anyway.) i guess the animation is a big compensation, and the story's starting to pick up too. nope, no episodic arcs here, especially when it will end soon. it's not really the best (yet) but it seems fun enough and entertaining.
