Correct me if I'm mistaken, but is the ending song sang by some one named utada hikaru? did she ever sing any songs for any other animes?

Utada Hikaru did indeed sing Beautiful World. As far as I know she hasn't done stuff for other anime, but she did sing the theme song for Kingdom Hearts II.

Hmmm, you know I just remembered something. Someone on Anime-Planet back a bit ago said that Asuka's voice actress had retired from the business. If that's true, what are they going to do about her voice for the second movie?

That's a very good point. She had some disease or something last time I heard...

Basedow's diease.

Treatable and non-life threatening.

in Wiki, it said she is also a sound director. My guess is she is branching out after her force retirement by the otaku's back in early 200s when it was reported she was the va for a hentai.

The DVD is dated. The 2-disc special edition (5985 yen) is out on 25th April, and the regular edition (4935 yen) is out on 21st May. No blu-ray date yet. Sad and disappointing.

Wow just saw it pretty good movie, like all the extra details, and better animation/sound. Even though it's a re-telling better see a more clear and happy ending this time around.

Didn't like how they cut all the off time moments, I know they needed to cut it down for the 90 plus minute running time.

Still I don't know what everyone is so worked up about on a release date. Most people can't understand raw japanese, thank god I took it for a few years so I could understand the dam thing. It gets real boring watching a movie you have no idea what's going on. You can piece some of it by the pictures alone but words make it a whole lot better.

I'm suprised it took so long to end up on the net. But it was a theatrical release. Still it might never see a fansub or if it does not for a few months. Hell who knows when or if it will come to the U.S. etc. I remember when end of eva nearlly never made it.

I'll still buy it if released since it's my favorite series.

Yes is so likely that we don`t see a fansub of this. Because EVA is not on of the Series wich started the otaku-dom for some percent of us...

.......huh? Wut? Am I understanding you correctly in interpretting that as anime fans forced her to retire because she was a voice actor in a hentai?

..........wtf?! That's..................very much literally, one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard......

iirc in japan voice actress idols and singers arent really "allowed" to have boyfriend, their fans need to believe they are "pure" "innocent" "within their reach".
so i m not surprised something like this happened.

The way I read that was that she retired due to her disease, but then did a small bit of work afterwards without making a full comeback.

You will have to get the details form Kj1980

But basically what happen is that Japanese Otaku have these idealize view of thier favorite Seiyuu. Yuko Miyamura at the time was one of the biggest. Then it was discover that she did voice work for a hentai anime this was a abig no-no back then for Seiyuus to be doing porn work even if it is just voice acting. Her fans turn on her.

In summary a bunch fat, smelly, non-underware changing geeks put thier pure idealize view of what thier favorite seiyuu should be and then when she didn't measure they turn on her like a pack of dogs.

I think she was on her way to a come back when she got diagnoze with basedow disease.

I hope she makes a full recovery and comes back to do more voice work. i really do enjoy her voice work a lot.

Wha...? Wha...? What!? Are you insane? How can you say we won't see fansubs of freaking Eva!? Yes, a lot of people hate it, but it's still one of the most praised series around, and probably the one with the biggest fandom (if we forget about a certain studio who's been catering a little too much to a certain sector of the fandom lately).

Really, I give it no more than one or two weeks for a full fansub of this.

@Xellos: Yeah, lots (if not all) of well-known seiyuu use pseudonyms when doing ero titles. I remember running into Tomokazu Sugita with a completely different name doing the main role in an eroge not too long ago.

Yeah, but did Yuko Miyamura forget to use a nickname?
Otherwise I don't understand why she got caught in the "scandal"...

It may come as a surprise, but sarcasm in English (or any other language I know of) doesn't usually transfer on the internet, so forgive people when they mistakenly take you seriously

the whole eroge voice acting doesn't seem to hurt the male Seiyuu any. it is only the female seiyuu that has to watchout. Although it does seems to be more accepted now for a female seiyuu to do eroge games.

When I was talking about no fansub was like with ghost in the shell solid state society. They threatened to sue anyone who fansubbed and the fan subbers listened. If they were smart they would do the same with the Rebuild movie.

I had to watch it raw before I bought it. I understand japanese but series like ghost in the shell have so much techno bable I can't follow every word.

More than likely since EVA is so popular someone will fansub it. I'd buy it in a second when it's licensed but your not missing too much with the first movie. I think the next 3 movies will break or make it. If all you ge t is one big mostly retelling-recap crap I don't think new or old fans will buy it.

Me personally I'll buy it either way since it's my favorite series, not claiming it's the best series ever like some people claim just about any series.
