lol yeah it's kind of funny though i am mostly sad. :P lol

i wonder when will we get a serious shounen ai where the center is the story and not how much the seme is stronger than the uke.
i really want a fantasy (maybe even adventure) shounen ai.

crisis where do you have the information from? btw it's really too bad you stopped Sukisyo at episode 6!! i highly recommend you to continue (my favorite shounen ai to date).

Magus IX - Ouran's director is one of my favorite directors but actually Ouran kind of disappointed me, i like Ashita no Nadja much more. the direction there is amazing - but it's much more drama than comedy. i like this director's drama directing and not comedy.

I do share your sentiment in that that I, too, long for epic BL, but - 'Don't judge a book by its cover' - an old cliche that's been overused like whoa, but still rings true. I'm sure you can find your much anticipated drama in the story that is Winter Cicada, or perhaps even some amusement in Romantan and Kire Papa. Granted, the summaries are really something, but even then, perhaps the products themselves are better than they sounded.

(And because I'm a spiteful, spiteful person, I'm not including Okane ga Nai in there, for the sole assumption that they are gonna spiral all the drama and angst out of control with the very best they could. )

From the aarinfantasy forums as well as the livejournal communities. For many reasons, I prefer to hang out in the livejournal communities better.

Haha, no, I didn't say you were. Just spreading a little love for most of these series, that's all!

And...

Thank you crisis for sharing this absolutely amazing news.

I'm really excited for a few but i wonder how they will pull Okane ka nai as TV series. (i heard from someone that it's going to be a 13 episode TV series). But i'll be excited for it even if the edited the SEX scenes and made it just hints.

But i'm also very excited about Winter Cicada. It looks very interesting.

Okane ga nai is gonna be a TV series?! How the heck would they pull that off... that manga was nothing but bad bed scenes + Ayase crying about it.

It was kinda disappointing, really.

I mean, there are a lot more good BL manga/novel out there, but they have to choose some of my least favorite (cought ___ okane no gai___ cough )
I just cannot stand that uke. I don't even bother finishing volume 1.

The only one that seem interesting is Winter Cicada . I love Iwaki and Katou.

Ikoku Irokoi Romantan by Yamane Ayano (sp?) seem okay. Her arts are beautiful. I am happy about this particular release because if Ikoku Irokoi Romantan get an OVA, one day we might get to see Crimson Spell animated. *keep her hopes up*

What make me sad is that why don't they continue the classic BL anime such as Mirage of Blaze and Loveless. But they create new anime that does not even compare to the classic anime. *speaking from someone who try to learn Japanese so she can read the MoB novels*

Yamada Yugi's Work "Close the Last Door" will be an anime next year. Taken from

Many mixed reactions in response to all the titles, but this just shows it: 2007 is definitely the year for Yaoi.

Taken from: http://www001.upp.so-net.ne.jp/karak...blsinsaku.html

(I've noticed that Animesuki forums are a little low in posts for manga/yaoi/shoujo, but certain yaoi forums and most definitely, Livejournal, are where the action is at. )

So which of these have been released so far? (other than boku no pico... err )

And can someone clarify which will be made into TV series and which will be made into OVAs?

I have my fingers crossed for more TV series..... hoping for another TV series of Gakuen Heaven quality~~~

Ikoku Irokoi Romantan : This is definitely an OVA. You can't have sex without OVA, and an Ayano Yamane title without sex is blasphemy.

Kirei Papa : I'm thinking TV series - the manga has Papa struggling and bemoaning his ties with his kid's friend, and there're little plot twists here and there that may intrigue the viewers. There was one explicit sex scene in the end, and I'm sure it'll be toned down as it's not necessary (though a delightfully added touch, obviously. :P)

Okane ga Nai : When 60% of the manga is hardcore sex?

Winter Cicada : I think it'll follow Harudaki's format, OVA, seeing how it has explicit scenes too.

Saigo no Doa wo Shimero : I've never read the manga, but it seems like those yaoi titles with an added touch of plot. OVA, I'm thinking...

Whoa! Close the Last Door? That series is actually... pretty darn good. A BL anime with the potential not to suck? What on earth will they think of next?

I hope that they 1) make it a TV series, and 2) focus on comedy (without forgetting the drama, naturally). I really like the manga because it's about adults and because it washes away any potential sappiness with biting humor that's quite unlike the lame, clumsy slapstick that you get in a lot of other BL titles (not to mention in manga/anime in general). I'll be way disappointed if it becomes a OVA that's focused on racy content... the manga's strong points lie elsewhere, and it would be a criminal shame to waste a decent story and decent characters on that.

It's definitely going to be an OAV, though when I first heard about it I was hoping for a series too. I love Yamda Yugi's stuff. Even though her art isn't particularly impressive, it has a charm all its own, and her characterization is (usually) excellent.

I just can't get too excited, though. Every BL OAV--aside from Blue Wolves--I've ever seen has had a horrible budget. The animation is usually laughable and the background music...the less said about that, the better. I can't get excited over hearing about my favorite series being animated any more after being burned so many times...

I was hoping for at least one TV series but I guess an OVA is better than nothing. (though sometimes nothing IS better.... ughhh, the Angel's Feather OVA...)

Porn porn porn. I read yaoi manga because I find "forbidden love" stories intriguing, so I dream of one day seeing a BL TV series with emphasis on storytelling instead of "WOOHOO NUDITY".

As of now, the only yaoi subtext I could think of is in Saiunkoku Monogatari and Marginal Prince. Shounen Onmyouji has a crap load of bishounens too, so who knows, we might get a few tinges of good old BL romance in the air. <3

Where do you all frequent with yaoi (or even manga) discussions? Animesuki is obviously the last place for it (since I assume the male to female ratio here is 5:1 - or maybe manga threads are preferred elsewhere XD) so I'm just curious.

Over at the Tsubasa forum, we have a wild Fuuma/Kamui/Seishirou/Subaru thread.

I've posted it before, that Livejournal is the most obvious place for these things, but any others?

Bleh, and my uncle says there's no yaoi nowadays... well he is ABSOLUTELY wrong! -.-
And ALSO! most of them have bad graphics or like bad stuff on it or there's no more hardcore ones. Have you heard that in Japan, the Prime Minister there is trying to ban yaoi, because the manga had too much explicit scenes in there?! sheese, it's not like the Prime Minister is reading it.
Anyways the whole point i was going on here to type is to ask "Is there going to be more Close the last door?" because like in the end of the OAV, it was just awkward, and SHOULD be continued. And everyone is pretty much waiting for Kirepapa to come out. Ikoku Irokoi romantan.. both OAV'S are out, but in the manga there should be three. In the last one i think it was Al had to go because he knew that his loved one was married (sad, i know).
I'm just waiting for new yaoi now, they won't let me watch JUNJOU ROMANTICA in english, i'm angry cause of that! sighhhs.
Well, i'm enjoying Junjou Romantica now, so hopefully that'll keep me entertained. Waiting for Kirepapa! AND Close the last door! *fingers crossed*
2020! (very long time) a fortune teller in Japan had said, "A new anime 'Small Petals' is going to be a world-wide hit for all yaoi-fan girls" HOW AWESOME IS THAT? then she said, "It will be more popular than Junjou Romantica" NOW THAT WAS A HUGE SURPRISE! Everyone watch out for that anime!
