Anime that might ruin your experience b/c they're so good..

OK, I'm gonna make a strange request here. Please suggest animes I shoud avoid not because they're so bad.. on the contrary because they're so good that after you finished them, you had little desire to watch any other new anime for a while.. Examples for me personally include:

Evangelion
Noir
.hack//Sign
Full Metal Panic Fumoffu
Da Capo
Bleach
Shuffle!

See what you made me do? Don't ask people who love anime to list animes that are "so good". I simply had to stop listing. Sorry that I don't describe them, but the list is too long and you didn't describe what you actually like, so you left me with pretty much nothing to say, all I can say is that I usually like a good story and plot.

So if you're looking for something that it's not good, so that you can keep watching more anime, let me recommend this:

Well everyone has different tastes I guess, but from the shows that you listed for being "too good" then I think you are setting your standards too low. Anyway look look through the suggestion forum and pretty much avoid every show that gets recommended more then once.

Quoted for truth. Actually I sort of meant to say that too, but thought that would sound rude.

Here you'll need to explain me. Isn't it the point of a suggestions forum? I mean NO ONE suggests Naruto!

I would disagree, sure Naruto (pre-filler) was a good series, especially for a long one but it was hardly outstanding. It broke no new ground, was is not deep in any sense of the word. I've never met anyone who told me that naruto "changed the way they thought about things" or anything remotely similar. Sure it's entertaining but when you turn off your computer questions about it don't haunt your mind.

Well with his low standards, I was operating on the principle that any show that was recommended more than once by two different people will probably be good enough to ruin his future anime experience.

Well now you have.

Maybe it was just me but way back when Naruto was still new, I honestly couldn't wait to get my fix. And the rush of excitement and adrenalin I used to feel whilst watching episodes like Lee Vs Garaa, or Naruto Vs Neji have never been rivalled.

I would play the Ed song Wind, every night on loop until I fell asleep and I would wake up just wanting to know what would happen next.

When Sasuke first activated his Sharingan against Haku I almost had a heart attack, and then Naruto went Kyuibified for the first time I think I actually flat-lined for a few seconds. Naruto gave me so much pleasure I cannot do it justice by explaining.

I fcuking loooooovED Naruto.

XD

Sorry that I don't describe them, but the list is too long and you didn't describe what you actually like, so you left me with pretty much nothing to say, all I can say is that I usually like a good story and plot.

So if you're looking for something that it's not good, so that you can keep watching more anime, let me recommend this:
http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.p...anime&aid=1430

4 3/4 ounces all-purpose flour, approximately 1 cup
4 3/4 ounces whole-wheat flour, approximately 1 cup
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons sugar
3 whole eggs, beaten
2 ounces unsalted butter, melted
16 ounces buttermilk, room temperature
Vegetable spray, for waffle iron

Preheat waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions.

In a medium bowl whisk together the flours, soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar. In another bowl beat together eggs and melted butter, and then add the buttermilk. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and stir until combined. Allow to rest for 5 minutes.

Ladle the recommended amount of waffle batter onto the iron according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Close iron top and cook until the waffle is golden on both sides and is easily removed from iron. Serve immediately or keep warm in a 200 degree F oven until ready to serve.

Except replace the waffle iron with a taiyaki mold and add a happy center of sweet red bean.

I suppose they are making of the list without any notes. Like a weird recipe or a formulae...

By the way, XXXholic isn't too good, just average.

(Still, the new ED rocks. )

The problem with threads like this is that they immediately descend into arguments over what should go on the list. The OP's list itself had items on it that "tastes differ" on whether they were "so good I couldn't watch anime for a while". That Little Qualification got lost and people started listing every anime they ever liked.

Hence the fine recipe for waffles (waffle...) that I noted could be adapted to a taiyaki recipe.

I won't dictate what is good or not, only that I personally had to take a break from anime after the following:
1) AIR (evoked some memories of young death)
2) The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi (did so many things well, it was hard on the other shows I liked - so I took a brief respite).
3) Tsukuyomi Moon Phase (a point where I thought the show was NOT going to head down the happy ending route)

Now I have a whole mess of shows I *liked* or *loved* but none of the rest induced a "had to stop watching anime for a while" other than those 3.
