I just read chapter 45, and my god, Yano is a real jerk. I used to like him quite a bit, but I just don't understand what he's doing.

o.kay I just finished reading chapter 45 and all I got to say is wow it was so sad I was crying when Yano said that he desired for Nanami and Take to go out and I cried even more at the very end when he said "Takahashi hate me and then bury me" that was so sad.

what's up with the manga it is taking forever i'm seriously going crazy I need to know if that was Yano and I hope they get back together. I'm still pretty sure that they will get back together because I mean come on now it is so obvious that they both still love each other.

This chapter is very sad, and I understand that Yano is in a great deal of pain. I also know that he still loves Takahashi. But he is being incredibly selfish, so caught up in his own despair and self-loathing, he is totally ignoring the tremendous pain he has consciously inflicted on Nana. He has cut himself off from the people who care about him in order to wallow in his own suffering, all the while knowing that he is spreading that suffering. It's the same reason that many people commit suicide, thinking "everyone will be better off without me," while in reality family and friends are left devastated, having to pick up the pieces.

In short, I have no respect for the way Yano is behaving right now.

I don't agree with Yano's way of thinking, but at the same time I can't blame him for his behavior either. Perhaps his mother made him realize the dark side of loving someone to such an intense extent. In addition, he found similarities in his mother's love for his late father and his love for Nana. It was at that moment, that he became afraid of loving someone (Plus, he already had a bad experience with his ex girlfriend and ex girlfriend's sister), so he gave up on love itself. And of course there's the reason he said himself. He blames himself for his mother's death, so he feels that he doesn't deserve happiness.

All in all, Yano is the most human like character I've seen in any manga. Hopefully everything turns out well in the end.

I think this manga in a way is similar to Sand Chronicles ( anyone read that ^^ it's awesome and tragic btw) both of them got the Shogakukan Award in the same year what a coincidence.
Only in Sand Chronicles, the one who has mental problem is the girl, she could not get over her mother suicide and totally dependent on her boyfriend to the point that she afraid she would drag him down to the rock bottom with her and that's why she broke up with him.
I think it's the same for Yano, maybe he is troubled by the fact that he is so like his mother and haunted by his weakness, thus decided he cannot protect Takahashi. Or maybe he consider Takahashi sth very precious thus if he is to lose her ( like his mom) he would not be able to bear it...
I think like Take said: " Love is all about timing" same goes for Yano and Nana, not until Yano learns to be honest can they be together no matter how much they are fated to be with each other. and for Take, his timing is always not right, proposes when Yano reappear ???? man, poor guy

I do prefer Sand's Chronicles > BGI , though (sorry fans!). I guess because Fuji (and his sister Shika) has a slight edge on the "like factor" over Yuri, lol.

That's so true. Just like in the sidestory, when the girl he had a crush on in junior high went after Yano, too. ;/ But there's always Aki......

Cutting himself off from people he loves and/or is close to is the first step toward suicide. I hope he doesn't follow his mother's path...

However, I've come to understand that depressed people just "can't help it". It's almost like a hardcore drug habit.

Heck! Took me a long time to get my hands on the BGI manga chapters. Oy what a pain! Reduced to tottering tears. What a fine way to spend one's birthday lol. Can't wait for the next chapter to come out.

I love Bokura Ga Ita, it just drives me nuts though lol. I wish it would just come to an end for my own sake. I remember watching the anime and crying like, literally six times. I can't believe Yano would break his and Nana's promise after she kept it for so long. I was glad to see her finally consider Take, but as much as I hate Yano at the moment, I want them to be together as well.

Not sure if I will continue on, this story drives me nuts surprisingly, I'll be in class feeling my heart grow warm because it's so sad and it won't get out of my head.

...I fail, I know.

Anyway I am currently watching the Anime again, and man I'm starting to pick up on some things I missed, and I'm becoming alittle more emotional with parts I already know are coming.

Also I bought the first Volume of the English Adaption of the Manga, it's not too bad for a Viz Product.

Can't wait for the 2nd one in Jan.

Kind of a boring Chapter.

But I did enjoy the insight of why and how Yuri ended up in Tokyo.

I also enjoyed the stalker bit of her sitting at the Station all day.

Well, I watched the Bokura ga Ita anime last summer, and I recently decided to read the manga to find out what happens next. Little did I know that it had gone on hiatus

Needless to say, I'm absolutely dying to find out what happens next.

I did some research on the internet and it seems like chapter 51 came out around march or april of last year. So...I guess it's been on hold for a pretty long time

Is there any hope? Does anyone know anything at all about when 52 will be released?
