That's just mean.
Can Kanna even be considered a competetively viable character?

I know a lot of bosses in most games are noobkillers but are pretty bad on the competetive level due to little things like delay in their attacks, lack of a versatile movelist, and their bulky size (which certainly applies to Kanna).

Meh.

Kanna sure is cheap...i wouldnt ever let my friends use her, nor do i use her.

there's no way to hit her, i havent beaten the game (although i put the difficulty at max) because of her.

This time around, I'd wager Kanna is really good. Her jump (flight?) goes up so fast she can escape pressure some of the cast can't do. Additionally, she has an ultra safe EX DP so she can escape either way. Her ground dash is fast and considers her as airborne (instant high attack), following from the dash, she can combo you to an easy 2.5k-3k without EX moves or supers. With a full EX gauge, she can do a nasty loop which will dish 8k damage without HP scaling (10k is the max HP btw; and just FYI most of the cast can do 7k damage but with level 3 supers). If you somehow manage to tack a 236236B at the start of the combo, I think you can go to 10k+ easy. EX 236 I think is a super fast full screen ground attack, with wallbounce if it hits; depending on her position and EX gauge, she can easily feed you a nice basic combo that grounds you or a nasty bow loop. She also has some irritating ground spikes, so you can play abit like Goenitz (koko desu ka, koko desu ka, koko desu ka). Granted she isn't Goenitz since EFZ has parrying, but for those who can't parry to save their lives, their stuck at the other end of the screen for an eternity.

Additionally, my experience fighting my friend's Kanna makes me believe she has more invul frames on wakeup. -.-

EFZ has parrying? Doh. I need to actually learn this game.

Record your matches sometime and upload them!
Are you using a keyboard, pad, or stick to play?

Uhmmm... I don't think it'd be really any good. I'm not really that good at EFZ and it's been quite awhile since I've last played EFZ. As an alternative though, many have already uploaded some nice EFZ matches over at youtube.

Here's EFZ3.10's better characters. IIRC, Kano was ranked as top in BME. Nayuki is more or less around there too, what with that mad pressure and mind games.

Kano was toned down for Memorial though. I didn't notice much change in Nayuki.

I play pad

if anyone can give some advice on using Sawatari Makoto, please do. ^^;

*uses keyboard since his FPS reflexes from movement on WASD transfer into his doujin fighter setup of ASDF*

I'm not really sure for footsies, but I think I remember Makoto pressure being smoke grenade stationary and then a mixup of low attack and her instant overhead (663B?) Hit or miss, I think you IC it.

I'm not sure how effective this is in high level play, but I also saw someone mixing j.C and j.6C. The first for air-to-ground while the second is for air-to-air.

Hope that helps.

Cosidering the speed I get with Toho IaMP netplay, which is deemed the best netplay patch to date, I don't think I'll get good FPS with EFZ netplay matches. -.-

So that's a no. xD
I do play with my friends who drop by every week, but there's more Toho matches than anything else.

Here's a few vids with some basic combos for all the characters for those of you just starting out, some more practical than others. There's lots of eyecandy ones that are fun to watch.

Waha, you made me dust off my account here to post in this thread

Yes, EFZ netplay is great fun, albeit rather latency dependant. We generally arrange matches on IRC (#efz @ irc.efnet.net). The more people, the better chance of finding a nearby opponent whom you have a good ping to! ^^

EDIT: Everyone in this thread should come visit us! :P

New netplay program for those interested. It's a huge upgrade over the previous one and let's matches across the country happen with little lag if both people are on good connections. (east coast to west coast, midwest to alaska, or even west coast to japan) If you're looking for people to play drop by the irc channel blitz posted above.

I see all these good quality images and videos, yet my image quality is terrible. It's like taking a small image and making it much larger. Anyone know what this is about?

And how does the window-mode work?

EDIT: That was supposed to say "good" not "god," but it still sounded right LOL

IIRC, the window mode patch drops framerate real bad. It's better off for you to go play fullscreen with pixels than play with a severe dip in FPS. (Last I tried it, I remember 15FPS xD

If you can somehow hook it up to a CRT TV, then it won't look so bad. xD

EDIT: Mai combo muvi - I've never seen this many 9k+ combos in one vid. -.-

About that text file explaining how to solve the lag problem...

Quote:
Solution: Unfortunately, this is not always solvable. There are a few things that can be done,
however. The first step is to diagnose the connection. Go to start menu, and click on run.
Without quotes, type in "cmd" and push enter. In the corresponding window, type in
"tracert 192.168.0.1" (replace 192.168.0.1 with your opponent's ip address). If it starts
giving "*" after a while, put in "ctrl+c" This shows the path that your data takes through the
various servers and nodes on the internet to get to the other person's computer.

Have the host adjust the EFZ.NET transport settings as necessary.
What does that (the bolded part) mean? "Transport settings"?

EDIT: I take it no one knows? Oh well. Thanks anyway.

I started playing it yesterday, and after testing them in Practice I kinda got attached to Amano Mishio, with her lance and elemental attacks

Though, in Arcade Mode, I can't get past Unknown
