kj1980 is somewhat pissed at something we don't really know related to the fact that some gaijin used a program I don't want to mention for the sake of being nice, and that resulted in obviously slow speeds.... Since we are no match for the Japanese technology...

But while he thinks it is a piece of cake to get the RAWs for whatever the show you want to sub, there is a whole world of people who aren't as lucky as him/her.

Oh right, the topic.. You can check #l33t-Raws at mircx, Winmx or sometimes Emule. Of course, if you are lucky enough to get the attentions of a Japanese person, you could ask him/her to share his/her RAWs, though I doubt s/he will lower him/herself to talk with a mere human being like you and me.

Good luck!

if anyone cares, simply 'raw*' retrieves better results owing to the elimanation of words like "draw"

It's not only that. The J-police arrested 2 users of this program last month. It's dangerous for all uploaders who use it now, so "don't show don't tell" is the best policy. No need to go around saying "we get our raws from these J-fans".

And I wouldn't be surprised if the J-companies are starting to get pissed with fansubbers. Fansubbing used to be the means to watch obscure anime we'd never get to see otherwise, but nowadays it's escaped any kind of modesty and control. Someone said in the other thread, why fansubbers don't buy and use as source the Japanese dvd? Why can't they wait a few months for them to get released? Do you know that the average Naruto fan on this forum watches each weekly episode EARLIER than the average Japanese teenager who doesn't live in Tokyo and has to wait a few weeks until it's aired on his local TV channel? And he even complains about the "delay" of the episode! Frankly, I find this obscene.

No it isn't. Winny never was and never will be dangerous. The 2 arrested users boasted of their illegal files on a message board. Uploading on Winny is very secure and anonymized; it's based on the Freenet protocol, which is so anonymous that you can upload child porn and not get caught.

I doubt the Japanese government is out to make money. Maybe the people, but then again, almost everyone is in the business of making money so they can survive in this money-oriented world.
If you're talking about the Japanese corporations, then yes, they are out to make money because that's what corporations do.
As for English bootlegs, the only English anime bootlegs I've seen from yahoo japan are Chinese subtitled and most likely imported from Hong Kong.

i'm no Japanese. but i think every country is out to make money anyway, including the United States. though different countries make money on different things.

in terms of the bootlegs, i think these are mainly produced by people in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Welcome to capitalism. If you don't like it, move to North Korea.

As for bootlegs...hmm, I thought all those DVDs sold in the dark alleys of Akihabara were in Chinese subtitles.

i know america is screw. mainly because of cliton and the un
but china is never going to be a the top world power. thier population is to vast to achieve a that hieght. japaiese decide if they couldnt beat america one way, so why not another.

also the majority of technological advancements have been made by america companies, but due to america's economy rules.(monoplies) they never can market the like the japaniese can. shows how stupid u are. not know japaniese have no restrictions.

ibm could easily be the only computer hardware company
