Well, if it's any comfort, when people hear my regular speaking voice, they think I'm a guy....

It simply makes it more amusing when i sing, since I'm very high up in the ranges, but speak very low

Hehe, I was amused when people mistook me for a guy in the comp before this one, because I'm the opposite--I have a *really* girly sounding speaking voice...

When it comes to spoken voice, same here. And most people say me and the 2nd of my brothers have the same voice and we get confused on the phone ever since we were teenagers to the point of even his friends calling me by his name if I answered the phone and to the point of even my dad confusing us.

Maybe I'll do it when I'm not that lazy.
For some reason, I thought about the song True Blue by Zone, from Tetsuwan Atom, but it's true it would be a bit tricky, not just judging it, but actually doing it.

Hmm, everyone can see everyone's comments. This is embarrassing.
And who the heck gave me a 10? I wanna huggle that person. (At least, I think that's what the "max" part implies, since I saw one with max of 7.)
Well, thanks for those who gave constructive comments.

If possible, my duet will sound much better. Maybe the next solo too, I hope.

EDIT: Hmm, considering a good microphone. Do mics like the Sennheiser E845 or 935 or E945 require some kind of preamp or filter or whatever other accessory? I'd hate to spend money on a mic and find that I need something else to make it work well.

For the PreAmp. Yes most likely you need to have one to get good sound. Its basically more a matter of impedance. Soundcards are usually laid out for high impedance mic's, so low impedance mics like the Sennheiser E845 will cause noise when connected to a high impedance input.
If you later want to go semipro with a mix of condenser mic and a dynamic mic (like th E845), I'ld suggest a 2 input preamp with phantom power support.

Oh... and unfortunately, the number of partners will shrink to 3.

So we can have as many people per entry as we want, but only be in up to 3 separate duets/groups? Oh, and if someone's in a group of 3 or more, can that person also be in a duet with one of those people from that group, or would it have to be with a duet partner who's not in the group?

That all sounds too complicated... and too expensive. I was reading a bit yesterday and there were all those XLR connectors too. And that term phantom power. I think maybe I should stick to my headset for now. If only it was as simple as buying an E825/35/45 and plugging it somewhere into my X-fi I/O drive...

You're making me think! Noooooo!!
As for the partnets thing, it means that you can submit up to 3 entries (with different partners, obviously). As for singing with a member of a big group... To be honest, I'm still thinking about the formal rules for groups of more than 3. It might be in a totally different category or not. Come to think of it, the cost is going to kill me too... Better start saving!

PS: If enough people show interest in group entries, I might add it as a whole new category. We'll see.

Yes, I'm hoping for April as well. I'm no longer able to sing in my dorm, and I won't be home until March 16.
