Hahah! yes I LOVE the way they say Tutu... it's so CUTE!!!

At first I put Princess Tutu on my "to watch list" because it looked really cute... and I like cute. Then when I heard the good reviews about it and since Bottle Fairy had just finished, I decided to give it a shot.
For the first couple of episodes I was just like "....what the help?" Talk about confusing.... but I managed to follow. Neko-sensei cracked me up, and I got used to the odd little world the characters live in.
I have to say this: The series is incredibly beautiful. The music.. everything. Princess Tutu is just... so different from any other anime I've watched.
I've only gotten through the first half of Tutu and I'm downloading the specials as I type. I think tomorrow I'll seed as much as I can, so if anybody has requests please ask ^^
I really don't think it's repetative in the least. Sure, she changes into Princess Tutu every episode but it's not ANYWHERE near as long as those dang Sailor Soldier's transformations ^^ Such a beautiful series......

I don't know what else to say for this one but I don't think it would be a problem to show to your nieces. They don't sound really young and I don't see why they wouldn't be able to handle it. ^^

I'm one of the seeds that's not always on.
It'm running the btroundrobin script that you can find on the dev page
I'm currently seeding each of the individual episodes at 35kB/s for an hour in turn.

(I've got 2 other round robin scripts running, for a total of 120kB/s upload, I like contributing lots, and the way BT works, my seeds end up mostly contributing the rare peaces which keeps the torrent going without too much effort.)

A BT Round Robin script? Hmm, sounds interesting. Where'd you get it at?

Horray! I'm so happy to see Princess Tutu being so loved! :D I adore that series! The visuals (especially the OP!) are just so beautiful--even my mother enjoyed some of it, and that says a lot! Fakia is probably my favorite character, although Ahiru follows a close second. :3 Ahiru's just a bit too clumsy! (Her seiyuu is great, though--I really liked how they chose a rougher sort of little girl's voice for her; she's still a squeaky soprano, but she sounds real.)

The fairytale references are awesome. Neko-sensei's line is classic, lifted straight from Puss n' Boots! Such attention to detail is always welcome. Being a fan of ballet helps, too. ;9

I'd seed, but I already burnt and stacked away all of my episodes... Sorry! :0

Opps. Hmm, guess that counts for another one of those "blind moments", eh?

Don't worry, I tend to overlook a lot of things. Not like it's intentionally. It comes from being a glance reader. Got into the habbit during my younger programming days and can't seem to break myself of it.

Just happened to be flipping through my anime screenshots of various anime (I periodically take screenshots of some of my favorite moments in various different anime) and found this one of Neko-Sensai in one of his...hmm, personally shocking moments.

I'm up to 8 as well, and I love it so far. I avoided it as Hell because of the title and because people said it's about ballet, but I decided to give it a go after many people mentioned that it's the most underated anime.

And you know what? This anime is NOT about ballet. It's about FAIRY TALES! The ballet is used as a vehicle and common link to bind all the fairy tales together, but it's not the main theme of the story - the fairy tales are. I don't know if this will change in future episodes, but so far I haven't seen anything to make this "an anime about ballet", while I've seen plenty that makes it "an anime about fairy tales, using ballet metaphors and music".

It's a great way to appreciate how characters in stories work so closely together (what do you think cogs symbolize?) and appreciate writers (like ... damn, can't spoil. Like ***** <3 <3 <3) who can synthesize all of this together... etc.

If Ahiru ever appears unsophisticated, clumsy, etc... remember she WAS a duck, and while some odd parts of the story are really convenient plot devices (that Drosselmeyer intended it to be like that so that the story could continue), maybe he just couldn't control the way Ahiru really really was... or maybe he did?

Ahiru does have her good point that she'd probably be the only person who could "accept Princess Tutu's fate with a smile"... I wonder if Rue would ever do such a thing?

Well put!

I was thinking the other day, does anyone else find it at least a little disturbing that they always draw Ahiru's butthole whenever she's a duck? Once I see her as a little human girl, I can't quite drop the association when she's in duck form. Plus, I've seen quite a few ducks running around in my time, but never have I seen one's butthole. I think they're covered in feathers.

Princess Tutu questions

Ok, I admit, I haven't finished Princess Tutu yet (gads, I hate not having any freetime) but I'm slowly working on it. One thing of interest that I found brings a question to my mind.

[EDIT: Thanks for the real answer! I loved the series, but I paid more attention to the characters, music, and luscious-luscious visuals to bother with plot details. 8D;

I'm afraid that to answer this would give away part of the ending. It isn't a big spoiler, but many people would prefer to discover this for themselves. If you don't care, then highlight it. It isn't a big spoiler, but...

Ah, that makes sence.

Well, I'm finally up to episode 19. Just 8 more to go before I'm done. Man, I just major league love this series.

Question about the Princess Tutu fansubs

http://www.animesuki.com/series.php/24.html

What's with the "Episode 14.0", "Episode "14.5" business??

From 14 through to 25 they ran in 15 minute slots instead of 30 minute ones, but with standard length "episode stories", so those were each split over two weeks. So 14.0 is the first half of episode 14, 14.5 is the second half.

Will Princess Tutu (the anime) be licensed soon?

According to AnimeonDVD, along with the GetBackers and Mezzo license announcement ADV made, this announcement was made too:

ADV Manga also had some new title announcements (though some older announcements were mixed in: Gate, Yo-u, Gadjet, Dream Gold, Peace Maker Kurogane, Tengai Retrogical, Gamers Heaven, Ray, Enmusu, Demon Hunter (new one), Demon Prince Yoshida-kun, 50 Rules for Teenagers, Aria, Biscuit, Blue Inferior, Change Guy, Desert Coral, Fantasy Land, First King Adventures, Gadirok, Gun Parade March, Jinki Entend, Kids Joker, Lineage, Love Blossoms, Mythical Detective LOKI RAGNAROK, Pastel Green Spell, Pretty, Princess Tutu, R2, Ruler of the Land, Saint Marie, Sky Blade Sword of the Heavens, Sweet & Sensitive Tactics, Taimashin MASHIN, The Boss, The Ruler of the Land, To Heart, Vaizard, Your & My Secret.

I'm assuming these are all manga versions? Because if not, bye bye PMK, Ragnarok and Tutu from Animesuki...

What I'm wondering is why they licensed the Princess Tutu manga, when the anime is sooooo much better
