I'd say this is important because Lelouch has already declared that he was going to destroy the world and remake it too his liking. This makes him the world destroying monster.

Also the Emperors and V.V's contract is to destroy gods which could herald the end of the gods reign.

Not to mention the emperor did speak of its awakening when lelouch was making his contract. You might be right about that.

While Lelouch may tread along that path, while he may often taint himself with the fire of the very devil he may seek to slay, I rather doubt he will ever fully immerse himself and become like them. It is the antithesis of his very nature, to allow himself to be simply play out the role assigned to him, for he seeks above all else to shape his world by his own power. It is far too typical and blatantly obvious that those who walk the fine line will in the end fall off of it and completely submerge themselves within evil, so I expect them to do the exact opposite with Lelouch and allow him his victory instead, and retain a bit of his humanity in the end, no matter how the events he has unleashed play out or how they will shape him in the future.

This sort of tsundere relationship thing gets done all the time. Yeah yeah, we all know they're not lovers, but Narona was making a perfectly reasonable jab at the kind of relationship those two have.
