Short summary for Ch.187 with some pictures

Upper left is Hayate brother. He tell Hayate to apologize Aatan(Athens) but Royal Garden is disappeared.

Now Hayate realized that everything what she said is true, finally his parents betrayed him

If Hayate meet her again, he want to tell her 2 things.

Now Nagi and Maria come out, but not important.

And finally Athens appears with her butler.

アテネ「ずいぶんと・・・嫌な夢を見たものね。」
？「へ～寝起きの悪いあなたが夢にうなされてたなんて・・・いったいどんな夢だったんですか？ 」
アテネ「バカに説明しても時間の無駄よ。」

Hah! I knew it! Teen Athena for the win !!! But seriously, I never expect this so soon...

But now that it's confirmed, I worry how their reunion would be. It's more than likely that Athena has been watching Hayate all these years, so she would know that he's been working for the Sansenin family. To meet under those circumstances is not very favorable for both of them. And given the magnitude of their break-up, I can't imagine their reunion to be pleasant Let alone tearful

One of those things I REALLY really hope that I'm wrong.

But it does beg the question; Did Athena have the capability to open the 'gate' and travel between worlds at her own will? And more importantly, who is this new butler?!

Btw Anant, could you translate their conversation?

Holy shit. never expected this at all. using the space to introduce a new character and further complications into an already muddled and directionless picture is a risky decision over using that same space to build up existing characters.

Normally, I'm a Hina fan, but this arc is making me re-think hard about which girl I want to root for.

Hey, don't forget that hotspiring arc with Nagi's mother, HnG has already proven to be very capable to be emotional when it wants to.

As for this, I was already prepared for a sorrowful ending.

I'm thankful that it didn't turn out as bad as it could have... But it was still very sad.

Hey, I was also rooting for Hina (or Maria) before this arc. Although, I wouldn't know what kind of relationship Hayate and Athena will have once they meet again. Additionally, she has a new butler, doesn't she? That guy wasn't even being formal when he addressed her.

I wonder if Hayate's brother will ever show up again.

By the way, anyone else noticed Athena went from white to black?

Basically what you saw.

Hayate and Athena fought. Apparently, Athena could not see that mysterious skull. Hayate started to remember how he met Athena, and thought he'd make her smile no matter what. The match ended up in a tie, and Athena said Hayate could have things his way, so he should leave. At the end she remembered how much she wanted to be with him and broke into tears.

As far as what will happen, we already know Hayate probably still cares about her a lot (when he cried recalling Athena with Izumi). And I can see Athena still caring about Hayate. However, many Japanese manga authors tend to go with the plotline that there are no second chances in life even if you still love each other... So who knows. We shall see. At this point, we don't even know if Hayate remembers everything.

That manga showed that there is such a thing as a second chance in life.

I've been an avid Hina supporter...but this latest arc has broken down my resolve I think that if Hayate did indeed end up with someone, it won't happen until he settle things with Athena.

Well, in the end, one way or the other, he has to have one link with Nagi. I wouldn't really like them to end up as a couple, though.

Also, it's fun to see Hayate has a new master, and Athena has a new butler.

I wonder if he'll ever get back the ring she gave him.

Exactly, as I've stated in the previous, previous post, we don't know how Athena has been taking this lost all these years. It would be great if they could kiss and make ou- up, but things are rarely that easy.

I'm pretty sure he remembers as much as we were shown.

And I think that only holds true if one lost that loving feeling No seriously, if Hayate still loves her, he wouldn't give up. He's not the same boy he was before.

However... I can him having to chose between her and Nagi, meaning which side he wants to be.

I can imagine the manga-ka doing that.

But before that, Hayate's 2 things to say to Athena... ONe of them would almost certainly be "I'm sorry", or something along that line.

It's the other thing that would make or break this couple.
