I can see what's actually happening.

Ikusa is Himegami, who (just as Hayate) went back in time for unknown reasons and met Yukariko. They fell in love and had a child. Eventually, he had to return to his own time (a few years later), and that's how Nagi's father "died". After Yukariko died, Ikusa changed his identity and picked up the name (surname?) Himegami in order to look after his child. Shit happened and he had to leave.

Oh yeah...

I should point out that Hata has said on his blog (fairly recently) that Nagi's father is both blond and not-japanese. I mean really, where did you think she got the hair color?

I was thinking about Ikusa=Himegami recently, and I don't really think it works. It's not impossible, but at this point I'm sticking with them being different people.

IIRC, Himegami was already shown in the anime. I don't think those two are the same person.

He was never shown in the manga. Don't trust the anime on anything if it wasn't in the manga.

I think he did but Chiharu is probably aware or at least has resistant to it so its not yet open for a Chiharu route.

I think the Hayate's harem greatest opponent is Luca (A-tan is not available for the time being

) Luca pretty much is forward person and will say outright her feelings. Even I was shocked like Nishizawa at the end of the chapter.

Yes, but the way Hata is with breaking the fourth wall, I could see her reply "But I am a 2D girl..."
