[Manga] Chapter 258 Discussion

ch258 is titled "Seele Schneider" and it got leaked a week early, so I and many others have read it already.

I'd summarize, but gibits already did such a nice job, so here's ch258 summary by gibits (edited for type-o's):

Spoiler:

Btw, there is already some debate about whether it is "Zeele Schneider" or "Seele Schneider." Seele would make it a direct German translation of soul cutter, while zeele would make it zeele cutter (lol). I tend to think that it's "Seele" since Kubo has already shown a penchant for using German terms in the Bounto arc. Plus the German "s" sound often sounds like an English "z" which would make someone writing kanji or ramanji try to approximate the sound. Then you might come out with zeele when translating back to English, instead of seele for the actual meaning. But that's just my two zents... (that joke doesn't even make zense, does it?)

Also, I hear we will probably not have Bleach manga for two (2) weeks now since this was a double Jump. I will be forced to read some other series not in jump to quench my manga appetite. Or else I might venture out into the sunshine, something I have not seen in months.

NOTE: edted it to read Seele Schneider as that's what two translations I saw said.

This chapter makes me wonder how it is that the Quincy were so easily annihilated by the Shinigami. Did they send a bunch of captains to the real world or something? The Quincies apparently had such incredibly powerful tools at their disposal, and the best of them have bankai-level power. Or are Ishida and Ryuuken just way above the level of anyone else in their clan?

Quiney seem to have more potential since they use the power around them as a weapon, instead of the power inside of them. If every quincy had that sword the shinigami would be toast. I'm assuming they is a drawback to it, because this thing basically allows you to siphon your enemy's power and use it as your own.

It would be cool if the drawback was that by absorbing hollow powers, it made you into a hollow yourself!

PS Ishida pwned in the chapter, he should've used that sword/arrow earlier.

More than Ishida I would go with Ryuuken being the strongest like ever or true quincy genius . If you compare Ishida before Ryuuken Training and after you will notice the diffrence . Ryuuken has what Ishida lacks Killer Instinct , Ishida is also okay in sparing Mayuri raher than killing him , before Mayuri's escape

Maybe he was holding back to make Chiruichi overconfident. You know, like Hellsing's Alucard in his fight against Luke only without the Alucard or Luke.

Maybe.

He was holding back, but he had no choice so he used that arrow as a weapon lol

From what it looks like, do u reckon he killed her? or spared every1 like what he's done so far.

I hope we get to see what chad can do soon lol

I read at the beginning of the chapters written "The only weapon is the sword", then later at the end of it "The only weapon is nothing else but Bow and arrow". He tried to confuse us or something huh.

I don't think it is the Killer Instinct per se (it seems to me that Ishida will kill when he has to) and I think Ryuuken said it himself that unlike him, Ishida lacks talent as a Quincy but he has the dedication (if my memory is correct) so in theory Ryuuken had or still has the potential to be the strongest but maybe Ishida's hard work can overcome that?

''all your reiatsu belongs to us.''

LOL potential internet melee material.

The fact that Seele Schneider works like a chainsaw is great.

And again Urahara plays the Deus Ex Machina, who happens to give Ishida something like the Seele Schneider, which was just there lying around in a store house all time along.

Spoiler:

IIRC it was mentioned that Ishida stole the stuff from the hospital's (thus his father's) storage. His father has to keep the stuff somewhere and Uryuu is likely to know about it. Urahara simply helped him get it, which isn't what I'd call deus ex machina. If you want to discuss something, I'd focus on the existence of such an uber weapon in the first place, unless it reqires tons of skill or some other drawback to use.

nice coloring jobs!! did you do those, geta boshi??

so, it says in the kanji (don't know how different groups translated it) that Uruhara helped Ishida escape from the hospital, not take the Seele Schneider. Ishida says that he decided to take it while Uruhara was helping him. I don't think he meant Uruhara helped him take it. I have a feeling Uruhara might not have even known they had that weapon.

and technically "schneider" would not be a blade so much as scissors (though the words are still different). Sword in German is "Klinge" while scissors in German are "Schere" so Schneider is a little closer to scissors. Anyway, I guess my point is that Soul Cutter doesn't actually mean a sword, just something that cuts.

While I like Chiruchi, it will piss me off if both Chiruchi and Dordonie survive and end up helping Ichigo ad Co.

BTW, who are these people equivalent to in SS?? THe 3-numbered espada'types, I mean. Are these lke vice-captains? Is this like Ichigo fighting Ikkaku? Because it makes me wonder what kind of power-ups Ichigo and Ishida will come up with to fight Ulquiorra and others...

ALSO, in this picture, doesn't the one with the pink hair look suspiciously like a member of Ishida's family??

Reagrding the pic , they are the current imperfect Espada in Aizen's Army . Yami Grim and Ulqi are also in the very same Espada . Much detail about tres cefres ( Dol, Chiru ) is not given they arnt espada level makes me wonder who is stronger numeros or cefres .

Numeros can becalled fuku rank as they have only first release . Espada are of Taicho rank as its said they have a second release . They are even stronger than most taichos due their hybrid abilities
