Wonder how the prospects of a sub are looking. I would imagine Itsuki being in this so to speak would increase the chances. Though if Aya Hirano somehow joins the cast I will be able to see a sub in like five minutes I'm willing to bet.

Poorly animated though, and the second half was almost useless, story-wise.

30 years passed, and well, I don't want another Monster of the Day formula. For now they haven't explained why Himika can send just one monster at time, given what happened in the flashback. Not to mention, the fight scene IS horrible-looking, save a small portion in which the animation jumps up in quality for no reason.
GO Nagai's remakes are mixed bag: Mazinkaiser was really poor with all the fillers, Shin Getter (aka Last Days) suffered from production problems, Vs Neo Getter was downright horrible, the last remake of Getter was decent, Legend of Daikyo Maru was so-so. I'm liking Jeeg so far, but, objectively, the results are only above average.

what's the problem with the MotW formula?
the formula work perfectly fine when used well.

for everything else you have said... it's thew _3rd_ episode! let it shred some misteries for later!

animation-wise, I don't see all this horrible-ness--- not uber animation, but above average _IS_ good...

The problem with the monster of the week formula is in execution exactly as you say. In shows like Gaogaigar and Voltes V it is fairly well done, but in others such as Getter Robo/G it was a detrimant because of how uninteresting the monsters where. Sometimes you have to mix it up and throw something else out like in Gaogaigar where the same Zondar Metal appeared in two episodes or in Voltes V where Hainel would ocassionally pilot a unit himself.

The artstyle is the same as Go Nagai's from what I can see of the screenshots. He has a very stylized way of showing movement that involves stretching the characters faces and using sketch lines to illustrate fast movement. It's extremely old school and accurate to how he drew it way back in the day for the manga.

It looked like they had to put some fighting in the end so they slapped a monster in. I'll wait for more episode of course but I'd rather see the least possible number of fillers.

As for animation, the CG is very cheap (from the beginning of the show), and while it doesn't reach the abysmal level of Wellber no Monogatari it isn't exactly pleasing to the eye. Even in the first episode there was a drop in quality in the end. So far only the second has been consistent from the beginning to the end.

This is not my kind of anime but I find it really amusing to watch. I have been playing SRW W recently and watched Nadesico again so anything that resembles Gekiganger 3 is going to put a smile on my face

I'll most likely watch this just for a good laugh now and again

Yup, because all the anime she's been involved in have a history of being oversubbed and subbed as quickly as possible. It has in no way got anything to do with how much the subbers like a show, it's all about the cast.

Search Your Feelings Arkon, You Know It To Be True. N....NOoooooooOOOOoooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOoAAO (Mark Hamill oversells the scene).

Seriously I think in her case it would work. Why I conjured that up out of nowhere though I don't even remember. Must have been one of those long nights I pull, but it makes sense to me.

Haha. I have to admit that made me chuckle

But getting to the point... looking through the list of shows she's involved in some of them have been oversubbed or subbed fairly quickly but others have been dragging for a while or in some cases don't have any fansubs at all. So I don't think it's as much about the cast as the content of the show. Personally I'd say it's more to do with the fact it's a mecha show and perhaps not a good one in the eyes of subbers.
